#RHOA Star Kenya Moore’s Atlanta Mansion On The Auction Block Over Unpaid Tax Bill!

Posted on Dec 1 2017 - 2:00am by Avigail

Kenya Moore joins the long list of celebs with unpaid bills!

According to Fulton County tax records, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s Georgia mansion is on the auction block for unpaid taxes, totaling $6,010.26.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s office has the property listed in their December 2017 tax sales list. See below:

The amount owed ($6,010.26) seems like a drop in the bucket for the entrepreneur — who’s the CEO of hair care line, earns a rumored RHOA salary of $1.4 million, and has various streams of revenue.

Moore Manor

The Bravoleb purchased the 7,200-square-foot home, known as Moore Manor, in 2015. The house has been the source of many altercations between the reality diva and her ex Matt Jordan — as a result, Kenya recently announced plans to sell the property.

As fans know, the 46-year-old secretly tied the knot to businessman Marc Daly, in June. He’s an entrepreneur that owns a popular restaurant in Brooklyn, New York.

Life teaches many lessons, has many twists and turns, but always seems to present opportunities for a better today and tomorrow. I have looked for the wrong things in the past relationships. I have been wronged, and been hurt by others, but I’ve also doled out my share of pain and mistreatment. These all stemmed from not having deep love and relationships. Now, I have found love and want to start it with a clean slate. I want to put my past mistakes behind me and move forward positively with my new life. No more excuses, or negativity. I now have the chance to live not only for myself, but for my own family. The stakes are the greatest they’ve ever been in my life. Today is better than yesterday, and tomorrow will be better than today. Have a blessed Sunday. #love #life #newbeginnings #familyfirst #ThatsMrsDalyToYou

A clerk at the Fulton County Sheriff’s office tells AllAboutTheTea.com that the tax sale will proceed unless a timely order from a court of competent jurisdiction is obtained stopping or enjoining the Sheriff from conducting the sale.

If you would like to own a piece of Real Housewives memorabilia — the Moore Manor tax sale will be held on December 5, between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm ET, on the steps of the Fulton County Courthouse.

  • Wtfmf

This doesn’t sound right somehow. The amount owed is too low to sound credible. Things that make me go hmmmmm.

    • RealitytvJunkie

Ignorance is bliss. Even when presented with receipts Kenya Moore fans still allow fandom to override.

    • Chickpea16

I know my real estate and property taxes are due in June and December. Could be a half year payment. Also, taxes and home prices are reasonable in Atlanta.

      • Elizabeth Fisher

If you look at the tax bill, the 2017 taxes are virtually identical to the 2016 taxes that were paid.

  • Crazy Eyes

The bill shows a 2017 tax amount owed but no interest or penalties. This story seems made up.

    • RealitytvJunkie

The house is up for auction block, how is that made up?

      • Chickpea16

Maybe her house is in the process of being sold.

        • RealitytvJunkie

The taxes still need to be paid by the home owner – Kenya Moore.

          • Chickpea16

Not if the house is already sold to someone else. Kenya needs to pay only during her ownership of 2017. I think she may have sold house and it’s all in transition. Plus it’s not even overdue! If her real estate tax bill was late there would be penalties first, not go automatically to auction. I’m not Kenya’s biggest fan but can be objective.

  • Elizabeth Fisher

This whole story sounds fishy. Kenya has managed her money very well. I can’t see her letting her house go for such a small amount of property tax. That is her 2017 tax bill. My 2017 taxes aren’t due until December 31, 2017.

    • RealitytvJunkie

So why is the house listed on the tax sale list? The article shows more than just a tax bill. The house is actually on the sheriff’s auction block. It’s all in the article.

      • Elizabeth Fisher

The article states it is up for auction. There are no links to a sheriff’s auction. Those pictures in the article are merely her tax bill. If you know anything about property taxes, they are through the end of the year. AATT posted her 2017 tax bill which isn’t even past due. Unless Kenya owns her home outright, in which she would pay the taxes directly, her mortgage company would pay the tax bill. My mortgage company pays all my taxes and insurance premiums via the escrow that I pay to them. This entire article is B.S. Kenya’s home is not up for auction.

        • motherall

She says she owns her home…very snidely to Sheree to imply that she had a mortgage.

    • TartLemon

“managed her money well.” Really? How do you know that? If that were the case, taxes/mortgage would have been paid on time.

Doesn’t seem to me Kenya’s $$ have been managed well.

      • penny 2

The due date has not passed.

      • Elizabeth Fisher

Her taxes are not past due. This is a B.S. story.

      • RealitytvJunkie

        Agree with you, TartLemon.

  • we”r”family

and your rebuttal Kenya? The tax office is coming for you out of jealousy.

  • Original Jackie

It’s a tax bill. She isn’t in foreclosure.

  • delaney

Once a trick always a trick. That’s our kenyass.

  • Mrs.K

Probably had a lazy business manager handling her taxes. Kenya is smart,I doubt this was her doing.

  • penny 2

City of Atlanta taxes due 12/31/17 Fulton County due 1/15/18 according to Fulton County Tax Collector home page. She isn’t late.

  • TartLemon

Something’s not being told here. A house is not put on the Sheriff’s auction block for ONE year of past due taxes which, if you look at the bill, is not even past due. Kenya owes for 2017 according to this. It’s still 2017. If this info is correct about the auction, something else is going on.

FWIW, when I read questionable items on other sites, I generally come to AAtT to get the details, so I believe Kenya’s house is on the auction block, but question the reason.

    ~~IMO~~

    • ScrappieONE

The tax bill isn’t due until Dec 31, 2017 and I’m sure they don’t auction off houses prior to due date and most likely doesn’t happen until it’s seriously in the rears.

      • Elizabeth Fisher

It takes years for a house to make it to a sheriff’s auction; however, there are several options that can happen before it goes to auction. Sending a house to a sheriff’s auction when the taxes are not past due is not one of them. This is mind-boggling that this story is posted.

  • JustSayin

Well now that we all have Kenya’s address, who’s up for a road trip?🤔🤗😅

    • Sandy Wood

We can all meet up for the auction. I’ll start the bidding at $7000.00.

      • Elizabeth Fisher

Don’t get excited… this is a B.S. article. Kenya’s house is not up for auction. The tax bill isn’t even due until December 31, 2017.

        • ScrappieONE

          Exactly….

          • Elizabeth Fisher

My mortgage company pays my parish and city taxes, as well as my homeowners and flood insurance.

          • ScrappieONE

So does mine and we all know they can’t put your house on the auction block when the taxes are from the same year.

        • wiseone

But watch Kim run with this. I remember when Kim got evicted and her stuff was sitting outside.

          • Elizabeth Fisher

That was hilarious. And she stole the freaking landscaping

          • BetteDavisEyez1

I hope the bone carrier does. Kenya sure had a good old time making fun of Chateau SheBroke.

          • wiseone

Exactly – I think she was jealous because Sheree’s house was a palace compared to the condemned property she bought and fixed up.

          • BetteDavisEyez1

Sheree built her home from the ground up. Kenya bought a methlab in a ditch & fixed it up.
The whole house war was just ridiculous because Kenya wasn’t even a part of the cast when Sheree started her Chateau.
Ole Dust Mop just wanted to attack yet another woman for no apparent reason. Because you know, that is just how she rolls.
Now, she wants to play the victim because Wig did to her, what she is notorious for doing to countless others.

          • wiseone

True I don’t like Wig either but what she did to Kenya is what Kenya has been doing to everybody else. I can’t stand Kenya or Wig so let them go at it. Actually I am not feeling the beginning of this season because it seems like Nene and Kandi came in with an agenda to get rid of Porsha and it is so hypocritical because deep down inside they really hate each other. Then you have Marlo back kissing Nene’s butt and Nene is assembling a team to help get rid of Porsha. I don’t like how Porsha threw Phaedra under the bus but all of these women flip flop – one minute I like you – the next minute I don’t like you and it goes on and on. Besides Nene made that rape comment so she needs to butt out of what went on between Porsha, Phaedra and Kandi. She should be home nurturing Greg instead of going on trips and starting drama. She may be the breadwinner now but Greg made it possible by rescuing her from the stripper pole. I just think Nene is fake and every season she has a new enemy.

          • BetteDavisEyez1

            Preach!!🙌🙌🙌
Nene & Kandi hate one another because they both need to be HBIC. Nene doesn’t give a damn about what Phaedra & Porsha said about Kandi. She went even further when she actually wished rape on a woman.
Nene cares about the fact that Porsha is the most hated right about now, so she is manufacturing this fake beef to have a SL.
Anyone that throws a BBQ in the home that their loving husband should be recovering in, just to get cameratime is a POS.

          • wiseone

Exactly – she just wanted to show off her new home. She is so full of herself.

        • motherall

My taxes were no included in my mortgage and we were responsible for them because our down payment was more than 25% of the mortgage.

    • ScrappieONE

I was just getting ready to say something about posting her address….

  • Sandy Wood

Something seems off here. Didn’t she completely gut and reno that house in 2015, it seems like a tax increase of $665 is low for such and extensive improvement.

  • takenaback

Is the laws different in Georgia don’t you have 3 years to reclaim your property even if it’s sold at a tax sale

  • the underground train

Maybe her house is to be auctioned off but it doesn’t seem like it is due to this yet late tax bill.

    • Elizabeth Fisher

Kenya has had her house for sale for a couple of months. It is not up for auction. This tax bill isn’t even past due. This is her property tax bill for taxes THROUGH December 31, 2017.

      • the underground train

I know the bill is not due that is why I said not yet late bill. But why is her house listed on the Fulton County Tax Sales?

        • Elizabeth Fisher

The whole thing is fishy. Her house is still for sale on Zillow and it’s estimated worth is about $856,000 (which makes sense considering what she bought it for and what she put into it). This whole thing is weird because her 2016 taxes were paid and her 2017 taxes aren’t past due.

          • the underground train

Yes I completely agree. Wonder if that is a legit Fulton County Tax Sales list.

          • Chickpea16

The fonts are different on the tax sale list. Looks like December 2017 was typed in. Doesn’t match the printed address.

          • All About The Tea

http://www.fultonsheriff.org/tax-sales.html look for yourself….search he page for Kenya’s address.

      • All About The Tea

This is false. Avigail researched the the tax lists and this site has no reason to print lies. Please don’t discredit her hard work with false info. Kenya Moore’s house is legitimately listed on the Fulton County tax sales list for December. You and anyone else are free to Google it for yourselves.

  • TartLemon

When Kenya was building the house, some questions were raised about the drainage problem there. Perhaps the story is true and it’s the property with a tear down structure?

    Just spitballin’ here.

  • TartLemon

I don’t even read Kenya’s boring posts or the preachy IG comments. She thinks she’s some high falutin’ life coach or something. Blah…blah….blah

    GMAFB

  • motherall

What kind of tax system do they have in Fulton county? Her home is assesed at $15k fair market value and appraised at 206K? My house is appraised higher than that and believe me, I have no Moore Manor.

    • TartLemon

I always thought that meant the property had value, but the structure was a tear down. From the photos I’ve seen, that house has some serious roof, plumbing, foundation and other structure issues. Can’t quite place my finger on it, but for a newly built home, you can see some foundation settling issues just from the photos.

    • Elizabeth Fisher

No. You are reading it wrong. It says $515,000 fair market value. I’m not sure how the fair market value re: taxes works in GA, but her house appraised for over $800,000 when she put it up for sale.

      • shayvoe

They have Homestead exemption in GA….the $515,000 is the actual appraisal and the 206K is after Homestead Exemption was applied and what the taxes owed is based on. I live one state over and we have HE as well, but my property taxes are paid through my mortgage. She must not have a mortgage, so she gets a bill. Those taxes would have been due last January, so she hasn’t paid them all year. That is why the house is being auctioned.

        • Elizabeth Fisher

We have a homestead exemption here in Louisiana as well and my taxes (and insurance) are also paid by my mortgage company. It makes zero sense for a woman who makes as much money as Kenya does to not pay $6,000 in property taxes. She has way too much blood, sweat and tears into this house to let it go over $6,000. Kenya is a smart woman. There’s something fishy about this. According to Zillow, this house is worth well over $800,000. I’m just not buying that she didn’t pay her taxes on this property. If you told me Kim Z. or Sheree didn’t pay their taxes, I would believe it. I’m just not buying it that Kenya didn’t pay her taxes.

          • shayvoe

It is crazy to not pay a $6000 bill and lose your home. To o correct my earlier post, I looked it up and the bills go out in July. They also allow you to pay monthly with interest until the bill is paid. Makes no sense why she didn’t pay.

          • Elizabeth Fisher

Her net worth is over $1 million (which is peanuts compared to Kandi), but still there’s just no way she would let this house go over a $6,000 property tax bill. She’s not struggling for money. At. All.

          • shayvoe

Maybe she forgot about it. It would be the first one she owed and if she was not used to getting them in the mail in Cali, where she had a mortgage….who knows??

          • ScrappieONE

This is my thought too…. She did just get married, going thru IVF and whatever else is going on and could have simply been missed.

        • All About The Tea

          Thank you.

          • shayvoe

            YW

          • the underground train

So you have to pay the property taxes for that year before the end of said year?

          • shayvoe

Every county is different, but ours are due in October and considered delinquent Jan1. I am thinking what she owes is from last year, not this year.

        • just me…

We had the option of having an escrow…and hell to the yes we do.

  • TartLemon

I’ve never been in that house or even seen it from the outside, but the photos make it look like cheap construction. Not impressed AT ALL.

    • shayvoe

And how about the landscaping, or lack thereof. It looks like a mud pit and no grass.

  • Jane_one

I just googled Fulton county sheriff’s auction and got the page that lists the auctions for December. It is on the 7th and Kenya’s address is not listed.

    • Chickpea16

Fulton County website was updated on November 28 so all this late tax thing may be moot. Also, on a tax bill isn’t there a due date, or did I miss this?

    • All About The Tea

This is a lie. If you go to http://www.fultonsheriff.org/tax-sales.html and do a search for Kenya’s address, the listing pops right up.

      • Chickpea16

Yes, it’s there. So puzzling? You could put that amount on a credit card.

      • shayvoe

Yep…it’s there just as plain as day.

      • RealitytvJunkie

Yes, Kenya’s house is on the tax sale list.

    • shayvoe

      It’s there….look again …70 Burdette Rd.

      • Jane_one

I did just look and I did make a mistake. It was a different Fulton County. I responded to AATT accusing me of lying but they have not posted my answer. I thought we had both gotten incomplete information and never called them a liar because I never thought they were lying. I didn’t appreciate AATT calling me a liar right off the bat just because I disagreed with them with what I thought was correct info at the time.

        • RealitytvJunkie

You did call AATT liars with your comment. You don’t have to outright say it for people to get your meaning. You were wrong anyway.

          • Jane_one

I did not call AATT a liar. Yes, the info was wrong, but I didn’t realize that at first and just posted what I saw on that site thinking it was the right Fulton County. Again, I never thought AATT was lying but it did occur to me that they were given wrong info or incomplete info.

If anyone has ever dealt with city and county government they know there is a fair chance you will not get the right info or incomplete info. It happens all the time. Especially in my town.

That’s what I’m talking about. There is no way on the planet this is true because it’s Kenya.

No clickbait….read the mod’s comments below. Kenya’s house is indeed listed on the sheriff’s list for sale.

      • NoFixinStupid

She’s got 6G? Read it, she pays, she stays.

        • RealitytvJunkie

What does that have to do with her not paying the bill since July and allowing her house to land on an Sheriff’s auction list? This is embarrassing for a reality star.

          • NoFixinStupid

It doesn’t make sense, then again neither does she….her response will be to blame “someone”. Don’t think she’s embarassed about much.

After all the crap she gave Sheree over unpaid bills, she has a lot of nerve! I never did like her. She’s always trying to put someone down. I wonder what big lie she will tell to explain this?!

    • Jane_one

I don’t like Kenya, but none of this was her fault. First, this is about 2015 taxes. There was a billing error, I guess on the part of the tax office. Once she was informed of the problem she paid the taxes for 2015. She is not overdue to pay 2017 taxes.

  • Marsbars09

I don’t understand. How come Kenya did not pay taxes on her manor?! Is she broke?

    • penny 2

Tax Bill from 2015 was not due when Kenya purchased the property. There was no escrow account because Kenya paid cash. The bill was sent to the old owners in error. Kenya was made aware of the outstanding tax and has paid it. And apparently the rumor her manor (lol) is up for sale is bogus too.

      • All About The Tea

Please stop discrediting our story, which is 100% factual with convoluted and erroneous facts. There is more than a tax bill presented in this article and if you scroll down I posted a link to the Sheriff’s tax sale list where Moore Manor is listed.

        • penny 2

          Bye

    • Jane_one

It isn’t a question of money, she has the money. I hate to defend Kenya about anything, but none of this is her fault. The unpaid taxes thing was from a billing error made about the 2015 taxes on the house. Once the error was discovered Kenya paid the 2015 taxes. She has until Dec. 31 to pay 2017 taxes, so they aren’t overdue.

Sounds like admin error. 2017 not due yet.

  • gloria_gloria

Whyh hasn’t this story been retracted? It’s been reported elsewhere it was an overdue bill from the previous owner. This year’s bill isn’t due yet. Shoddy reporting.

    • Elizabeth Fisher

I knew there was no way Kenya didn’t pay her tax bill. She’s not going to lose an $800,000+ house over a $6,000 tax bill. I kept looking at that bill and it didn’t sound right. All of my property, county and city taxes aren’t due until December 31, 2017 and my mortgage company pays them. Also, as much as I don’t like TT, she’s all over anything that happens in Atlanta and she didn’t have anything on her blog about this.

    • just me…

🤷🤷..In the state of PA a mortgage can not be transferred without taxes being current.

    • shayvoe

That site is also blaming Phaedra. I guess if we are bombed by N Korea, it will also be Phaedra’s fault? TT gets more wrong that she gets right!

      • Elizabeth Fisher

Even though I’m not a fan of TT, everything she states sounds correct. I knew there was no way Kenya was going to lose an $800,000+ home over $6,000 in taxes. And TT confirmed what I said two days ago, her 2017 taxes are not due until December 31, 2017. And I don’t know where you are getting that TT is blaming Phaedra because her name is no where in that story.

        • shayvoe

Read the comments…they are blaming Phaedra and she agreed with them! She said “So funny you say that. I was talking to one of my sources about that very thing yesterday.”

That is absolutely ridiculous. I guess Phaedra told her not to pay the 2015 taxes when she bought the house, which were delinquent. She never paid them since she bought the house! THAT is why the house was being auctioned, not because of the 2017 taxes.

          • RealitytvJunkie

Tell em’ Shay. I appreciate your intelligent insight.

          • shayvoe

YW…I just can’t with the excuses her fans make for her, and you’re right that TT gets her info straight from Kenya, a known liar. And the blaming of Phaedra by TT and her fans is pure insanity. Who do you think her “source” is that she was discussing Phaedra being at fault? I just can’t with her fans who always believe nothing is her fault . They love her always being the victim and anyone with half a brain knows that trick is no victim.

          • RealitytvJunkie

I am grateful you’re here to school these imbeciles because it gets frustrating sometimes. The blaming of Phaedra is downright stupid. Look, I may not be a Phaedra fan but common sense has to override ones fandom. Phaedra has no control over Kenya’s finances and bills. Have people lost all their senses when it comes to Kenya? I am so glad I jumped off that sinking ship because the shit was getting out of control. And I am not surprised TT cosigns blaming Phaedra, she’s as dumb as the people that follow her.

            Thank you!

I live for when you get them all the way together with the facts.
The things they come up with to defend that liar is just ridiculous. They defend that fraud like she is a close personal friend or family member.
            It’s crazytown. LMAO!!

          • shayvoe

Hi ya Bette! Crazy town is a great description for where her fans live and Kenya is the mayor. As I always say, like attracts like.

          • BetteDavisEyez1

So true. Anyone that can twist any scenario to make that mentally unhinged, liar the victim should be on an island with her. LOL!!

          • RealitytvJunkie

            lmao!

        • RealitytvJunkie

TT also swears that Kenya didn’t feed her the wedding pics and story AFTER Kenya promised her new man she would keep everything private. TT gets her tea from Kenya and both TT and Kenya are liars. Also TT is a big time racist.

Your comment is B.S. not AAtT’s story. Only a slow or dumb person would believe that the tax bill was from a previous owner, when the tax record shows Kenya purchased Moore Manor in May 2015 and in tax year 2016, zero dollars were owed. Stevie Wonder could see that Kenya forgot or could not afford to pay her tax bill for 2017.

          • jpinphx

But she didn’t forget to pay 2016…. The tax bill for 2015 (when she bought the house) wasn’t due yet. And if Kenya paid cash for the house (which she did), there would be no mortgage and escrow account for the taxes to be automatically paid. The tax bill would have been sent to the prior owner by default. Its an admin error and not based on her ability not to pay.

          • CNN

The prior owner was the bank (as it was a foreclosure) and that tax bill for 2015 (1/2 the year since she purchased in May 2015) would have been addressed at closing by both sides attorneys regardless if it was due or not. And I never stated Kenya forgot to pay 2016, I wrote no bill was due in 2016 if you look at the tax record (that’s becuz it was paid by Kenya already) don’t be fooled with the lie she’s fed TT.

          • jpinphx

My point about 2016 is that Kenya paid that bill in full, and I’m sure she’ll pay the 2017 ones as well. I can see how unpaid taxes from 2015 might have been missed because escrow funds from the prior owner set aside (if any) to pay taxes weren’t forwarded to the county. I guarantee you that her house won’t even be mentioned on Tuesday because its been recognized as an error. This happens all the time. I don’t think its the big deal that people are making it out to be. And its not the house that would be for auction, its the tax deed. and it takes years for the owner of the tax deed to be able to force the sale of the actual home.

“I can see how unpaid taxes from 2015 might have been missed because escrow funds from the prior owner set aside (if any) to pay taxes weren’t forwarded to the county.”<—–that makes no sense. If a 2015 tax bill went unpaid, the bill would have been due in 2016 not 2017. Tax bills don't skip a year.

The bottom line is this…Kenya was responsible for her 2017 tax bill — did not pay it and allowed her property to get on the Fulton County Sheriff's tax list. Now she's feeding a racthet blogger lies to twist the story in her favor.

          • jpinphx

you mean, she IS responsible for her 2017 tax bill. Which isn’t due yet.

          • CNN

Kenya must be broke, if she can’t afford $6,000.

          • jpinphx

hmmm.. not sure why you think that, but to each their own. I wouldn’t classify someone as broke because they haven’t paid a bill that isn’t due yet.

          • Elizabeth Fisher

The 2017 tax bill is not due yet.

          • Elizabeth Fisher

Exactly. The 2015 bill erroneously went to the previous owner.

          • jpinphx

I can see why that happened but people are jumping all over her for a CLERICAL/administrative error. At the end of the day, its second grade math and was corrected. It made it seem like she was losing her house, when she wasn’t. Buying a tax deed doesn’t automatically entitle you to the house since that’s not up for auction.
