Vicki Gunvalson is apologetic about Shannon Beador’s struggle with the scale — but the Real Housewives of Orange County veteran is not backtracking from the allegation that supposedly started it all.

Last season, Vicki alleged that David Beador had physically abused his wife — a claim Shannon vehemently denies.

“That stress caused me to eat more, caused me to drink more,” Shannon said during the first episode. “That’s a huge part of why I gained my weight.”

Vicki recently spoke to ET, and issued an apology to her co-star, expressing regret for any role she played in Shannon’s weighty plight.

“I’m sorry,” Vicki told the outlet. “You know, I’m sorry that you feel that way and I don’t want to cause her any stress … If I’m responsible for it, I’m really, really sorry. I don’t want anything bad for Shannon and David. I actually want them to have a happy, healthy marriage. I told her that from the very beginning when she confided in me on their situation.”

Shannon and David publicly shared their happy couple comeback after surviving David’s 2015 affair — during which Shannon and Vicki enjoyed a close friendship. Vicki spilled some alleged tea during Season 11 — info she claims Shannon had disclosed about her troubled marriage. Shannon now partially blames the “false” abuse allegation for her significant weight gain.

“I said, ‘Make your marriage work,’” Vicki recalled. “So I’m sorry. If I’m to blame for it, I’m sorry.”

Shannon originally chirped that her scale tip was due to a spike in “happy fat,” but has since changed her story to misunderstood misery.

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Monday nights at 9 pm, ET on Bravo.
