Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi, dreamed of a career in show biz — and fans recently watched the dance queen get her shot at soapy stardom.

Viewers caught Erika’s mini-debut on The Young and the Restless — a clunky spectacle made possible by her fangirl friendship with co-star/soap star, Eileen Davidson. Eileen gave a grateful Erika her big break, an opportunity chronicled by Bravo. But who is really helping whom?

Soap opera ratings have been plummeting across the board, according to SoapHub — and The Young and the Restless is no exception. While Y&R maintains the top spot in the high-drama land of soaps, fans are clearly losing interest. The outlet reports that for the week ending last March 10th, viewers dropped 142,000 from the week before — and a colossal 476,000  from the same time the year before.

Eileen gifted Erika with a bit part on “her” show — but was the Bravoleb  really invited to inject life into a fading daytime landscape? Eileen and Erika chattered about Erika’s whirl at soapy fame throughout the season. The duo rehearsed and performed a scene in the CBS/Bravo spotlight — as Erika nervously prattled over an opportunity she labeled “the real deal.” Eileen and Erika continue to promote the show on social media. Erika was “a natural” gushed Eileen, a perfect 10 fit for the role carved out especially for her.
