Mohamed Hadid’s House Is a Bargain at $85 Million

Posted on Jan 16 2017 - 9:14am by Dani-K

Are you looking for a new home and have $85 million to spend? You’re in luck! Mohamed Hadid’s Bel Air mansion, Le Belvédère, is on the market. According to the listing agents, Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Previews International and Stacy Gottula of The Agency, this magnificent home is a bargain.

Friend of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Hadid’s home “embodies that luxury hotel feel.” Here’s what Stacy told the Daily Dish about the property.

“From the moment you enter the property you’re taken back by the fountains; there’s a swan pond. And then as you’re standing at the front door [where there’s] all glass, a very large foyer. You can see the view from downtown Los Angeles, that kind of leads you all the way out to the backyard that has beautiful rose gardens and basically you’re sitting on top of the city in this house in Bel Air. You’re in prime Bel Air. It’s one of the most prestigious streets in Bel Air.”

Everyone needs a swan pond, but wait, there’s more.

Joyce added, “It’s a magnificent combination [and an] exquisite estate” that includes a Moroccan-themed room, a poker room, and not one but two master suites. “The scale of the rooms is just unbelievable — high ceilings throughout on all 3 levels [with] incredible views of the city,” she said. “It’s just a majestic French chateau, which is rather unique [in L.A.]. We see a lot of contemporary houses. We see a lot of Mediterranean houses. We see a lot of pod houses. You don’t see a lot of French chateaus and I think that’s one of the reasons that this property stands out because its design and architecture is really spectacular.”

Two master suits and a French chateau? What a bargain! And bonus, the furniture can be purchased, too.

“Honestly at $85 million this property, compared to a lot of the high-end properties that are coming on the market with the $250 [million] price tag or a $500 million price tag, I think we priced it really to sell it.” Stacy explained. “We’ve had a lot of activity and interest with launching this two weeks ago. And obviously most clientele coming through you have to be a billionaire and qualified, so we’ve had a lot of interest since we’ve hit the market. I think people do see the value in it because of the 2.2 acres.”

Fun fact: according to Forbes there are approximately 1,645 billionaires in the world. Perhaps one of them could be contemplating a move to California right now.

The Agency should have hired a professional to write the ad copy for this home.
Stacy presents this listing as a semi-literate, gushing teenager.

    • Marsbars09

      LOL! Hi Sandy!

      • Sandy Wood

Good Monday morning to you, Mars.
I am eagerly awaiting “An Enigma’s” take on this ad. or press release…whatever it was.

  • Contessa Bel Raven

Now how did I know the Agency would be one of the realtors lol. That being said does anyone have $85 million USD to lend me? I’ll let you move in as well. With 2 master suites we could be roomier without falling over each other or fighting about who gets the master suite 😆 i’m willing to do all the cooking (I am a good cook/baker) bit we’ll have to hire cleaning staff lol. Or maybe I should see if one of those relocating billionaires is in the market for a wife….or mistress. (I kid. Will never knowingly be anyone’s mistress)

    • Marsbars09

Hi Contessa! I hope you’re doing well.

      • Contessa Bel Raven

Slowly recovering from exhaustion and sadness (buried a friend last week – cancer) but still alive and kicking (just not as high lol). How are things with you?

    • Why is this happening to us?

      I’m in! Lol

  • Thomas Crane

This place has been on the market for years. It’s been on at least 4 separate Bravo series. It’s a clunker at $85 million.

  • Athena Panagakos

Bless his heart, he’s been trying to unload that house for about a decade now. Still no takers, I suppose. Purchasing that house, means buying all the legal drama that goes with it. Can’t blame him for trying though.

    • Why is this happening to us?

I’d love to know what he paid for that house and how much he spent on the build.

  • Txtea

The interior in most of the house is not for everyone and at that price you’d have to add the expense of redoing rooms or flooring if it wasn’t to your taste. I’d live there in a heartbeat but if I had my own millions I’d pass.

  • ScrappieONE

I want to see pictures ….. I briefly remember it from a couple seasons ago on RHOBH

    • ImFlying

I want the chandelier in the bathhouse room. That’s all.

      • Why is this happening to us?

The Moroccan Room? I love that….that’s my favorite part of the entire house. I would lounge there all day if I could!

  • Deanna777

Was that Sammy from the Shah of Sunset Season 1? He worked on trying to sell that house during that season and I’m surprised it’s still on the market. Maybe Mohammed should think about lowering the price so he could get some interest in it. I’m surprised that Mauricio isn’t handling this sale personally since he only shows interest in the uber-expensive properties.

  • PCpolice

I’m a capitalist, however, I fail to see a justifiable reason for such extravagance.
Especially when it’s only for two people! When he appeared on an episode of Million Dollar Listing, he was in the process of building this mega mansion. He treated the hardworking laborers like peons, he the tyrant dictator. By scaling back a tad, he could’ve greatly aided a charity.

    • Why is this happening to us?

The best was when he said the house is “green”… now if that ain’t an oxymoron, I don’t know what is!

      • PCpolice

I know! The many resources used just in building it. Then the upkeep..
He wastes in the tens of thousands of gallons of water just maintaining his large pools! Tens of thousands on his large property watering landscape. This during water shortages where farmers are losing crops due to a lack thereof. Green house my ***

        • Why is this happening to us?

I’m not sure if he was just talking about the refrigerator being green or what…lol. You know what kind of footprint a house that size would have on the environment? Smh…people really amaze me! It’s unbelievable…lol. You mentioned the water in the pools- that alone is just crazy to think about when there are all kinds of droughts and water shortages in CA. I’m sure he paid extra money to make it “green” when that’s complete BS for a house that size. I guess in his mind, that’s how he justifies having a house so big. He thinks it’s green….

          • PCpolice

I agree on all points! I cringe at water waste! I’m not a crazy environmentalist, but I believe we all have a duty to be good ambassadors of our precious.

          • Why is this happening to us?

I agree. I’m not a big environmentalist either, but I’m also not a wasteful person and I’m mindful of my own impact on the environment. I think that’s the least we could do for our planet. I just think a home like that is so unnecessary. It reminds me of the Dubrows with their 14 bathrooms- who needs 14 bathrooms? Ridiculous….

          • PCpolice

I’m sorry I’m so late in responding! I’ve been absent for a few days.
Anyway, your comments are the best. We’re in complete lock-step on this issue, that’s for sure!. Have a great Friday and weekend!!!.

          • Why is this happening to us?

No worries! I’m always in and out around here… I’m sure whatever you are doing offline is way more exciting than hanging out here! Enjoy your weekend as well! Cheers! 🥂🍷🍹🍸😘

Thank you, withtu! You have a great weekend as well!!! 🙂😘 🌼🍸

I wonder what Bravo’s cut in this is; they’ve been marketing promoting this monstrosity on countless shows since it was built. I believe it was because of her connection to Mohamad that Yolanda’s was even hired on in the first place, and Muhamad a so called (albeit exaggerated) friend of Li$a’s didn’t hurt either. Now that Mauricio is brokering it, Kyle is probably getting a finder’s fee as well. God knows they’re ALL doing the show to as a platform to promote their crap, but California’s real estate industry (The Agency and Douglas Elliman) is the golden egg. But apparently this one has issues that we aren’t seeing, because by CA standards, $85M seems like steal. My guess is it’s probably the specific style; unless you’re of Middle Eastern descent, you probably wouldn’t be interested. I’m just a little ol’ RE from St. Louis, but I would think when these oil Sheiks and/or Asian billionaires stake out roots in CA, they’re generally looking for the quintessential “California” life, not a garden variety run of the mill “palace” and/or pagoda” that they can have in their own land.

    • WeCouldBeHeroes

Daddy paid for his daughters modelling careers too

      • AnEnigmaWrappedIn$nark

At least Gorgeous Gigi is somewhat worthy, Cinderbella not so much.

  • Why is this happening to us?

It’s gorgeous, but who would actually want to live there?
It certainly isn’t cozy and even with all the furniture and artwork it still looks empty. I guess if you never want to see your family it might be the right house for you!

    • WMK

So that’s how I avoid my family….now to just obtain billions…

      • Why is this happening to us?

Lol…that’s the best way to avoid them. You can each reside in your own wing and never the twain shall meet!

        • WMK

I’m into this…how did they divorce when all she had to do was just go hang out in her own suite?
I’m going to base my next house on old English royalty. I probably could buy an old chateau in France for less.

          • Why is this happening to us?

Not sure….lol. It’s kind of like the Dubrows- they don’t need to interact with each other (or their kids) either.
You could definitely buy a Chateau in France for less! lol

          • WMK

Oh yeah I forgot about that monstrosity!! All I thought was back to Sonia Morgan (probably spelled that wrong) who had her heat turned off all one winter and closed down parts of her house. We see them build these places and sell them, but cleaning, upkeep and bills for them must be horrid. I think maybe that’s why I think so many of their houses seem so sterile, they are, because they can only afford to live in three or four rooms.

          • Why is this happening to us?

That’s so true. Even the Giudices are paying something like $40K a year just in property taxes alone. You know what it must cost to heat and cool these homes? At least in Sonja’s case, her husband purchased the home and he had the funds to back it up! It’s just since she is divorced that Sonja can’t handle it on her own. I think she should sell it and buy herself a nice condo in the city. She doesn’t need a 4 story townhouse for just her and her daughter (who is away at school most of the time). It seems like all these HW’s have one thing in common- living way above their means. There are only a handful who are actually living a lifestyle they can afford- LVP, Kyle, Kandi, Ramona, Bethenny and a couple others.

          • WMK

I absolutely agree with you! Sorry for my late reply I forgot my info until a couple of days ago :/ I think that’s what the entire franchise is doing, find one or two people per location who are already capable of having what they have and then throwing in people who aspire to have it. Create that drama. Then the fan favorites are typically, naturally the ones that already have it because we aren’t tuning in to see our potential selves. If I want to watch someone struggle I’ll stand in the bathroom and look at myself in a swimsuit.
I kind of like Sonja though, at least for her I was like “she had a lot at one time I know this has to hit her hard.” Most of them like the Giudices I have little sympathy for.
That’s a whole lot of house and taxes for one family. She’s going to have to call that TLC family with all their kids to come move in and help with that. I can’t even fathom that on top of a mortgage.
Nope. I’ll stay in my rented townhouse and go to the property my grandpa left me out in the woods with a 400.00 a year property tax should I feel the need to be “lavish” in an owned home. Hahahahaha!!

          • Why is this happening to us?

No worries about the reply 🙂
I think you are so right about the producers creating that drama for the show by mixing the women who are legitimately wealthy with those who aren’t. It creates a different dynamic amongst the women for sure.
I totally understand what you mean- if I want to watch someone struggle, I certainly don’t need to watch tv to see it! I’ve got my own problems- don’t need to watch someone else’s for entertainment! Lol
Your rented townhouse and grandpa’s property sound lovely…you are smart to live within your means. Most people don’t know how to do it! We are similar in that way. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I knew I had all these bills for things I couldn’t afford!

  • Biscuit

It has all the ambiance of a hotel. Massive and impersonal, it has no warmth and instead seems sterile and cold. If you like living in a museum, then this might be the house for you. No wonder it has been on the market for years.

    • ImFlying

I wonder if Yolanda HFH designed the interior.

      • Biscuit

Good one. As beautiful as her home was, there was always something impersonal about it. She had it filled with lovely furniture and nice things, but I never got the feeling of warmth.

        • Sandy Wood

I thought the bottle of Patron on her bedside table lent a warm, cozy touch.

      • Sandy Wood

I seem to recall an episode where she was directing an interior designer at Mohamed’s home as if she was the lady of the manor and she was paying for the decor out of her own pocket.

      • Why is this happening to us?

I think she did. Isn’t this the house she was picking things out for?

  • nvrbl

These massive mansions feel like public spaces. I don’t get why someone with that much money would want to live in something that looks and feels like a hotel. To each their own, I guess.

    • BooBooBaby

      To show off!
Most barely even use or go into ALL of their rooms in their home.
Sometimes they shut off full wings…..unless guests come over, so they can Show Off some more! Lolz!

  • RubyT

No thanks. Give me a cozy, rustic log cabin any day of the week.

  • belleyd

video just plays a 30sec clip of some shirtless dude then stops

  • Ronnie

    Talk about a white elephant!

  • Wicked Cupcake

His house is worth $85 million and his wig is worth .85 cents.

    • Sandy Wood

      Right on point Wicked. LMAO!

    • Why is this happening to us?

Lmao! With all the money he has, you would think his wigs would be made of the finest virgin hair money could buy. Sadly for him, it looks like he shops at the same wig shop as Nene!

  • WeCouldBeHeroes

    Mohammed is so creepy

  • Colleen

They better throw in the human mermaid who was slapping her body poolside for $85 million! Remember that crazy spectacle?

  • kikid26

Where’s the French Chateau? Whatever is on that video looks like a cross between modern and art deco.
