Puppy Love! Watch ‘RHOBH’ Star Kyle Richards Emotional Reaction To Her Early Christmas Gift

Posted on Dec 26 2016 - 12:00pm by BeachSpin

Kyle Richards hit the cuddle jackpot this Christmas, when her family surprised the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star with her ultimate prize — a brand new puppy. The family filmed Kyle’s shocked reaction to the latest addition to the Umansky clan — a fluffy Saint Bernard/Newfoundland pup.

Kyle captioned the fun vid, “Christmas came early tonight!! My family surprised me with this beautiful baby! ❤️Never been so surprised in my life!”

Kyle is already the proud mommy of four dogs — and four kids, but recently told Page Six that she was ready to expand her canine brood.

“The only thing I want for Christmas this year, but I just don’t know if I’m going to get it, is another dog,” Kyle said. “I have four, but I really want another dog. I just love them so much. I just want a puppy. A big fluffy dog.”

Kyle got her wish, and posted an adorable photo of the rescue puppy, writing, “This is our new baby ❤️ so madly in love ! We need help picking a name ! She is 1/2 Newfoundland 1/2 Saint Bernard . Thank you @spotrescuedogs for allowing my daughters & husband to adopt this beautiful baby. We will love & cherish her ❤️promise ! #adoptdontshop”

Fans chimed in with name suggestions, including Willa, Petunia, Spankie, Pandy, Bugsy, and Jingle. Kudos to the Umanskys for adopting a rescue pup…now what to name her? How about a sweet and simple ‘Joy?’

We have to hold her as much as we can , while we can ❤️ #bffs #portiaandellie

I know she has a maid to clean up after all those dogs, it Judy too many..
If she happy then that’s all that matters….

  • He is very cute but her over the top reaction is just how LisaV acts when she gets a new pup. She’s single white femaling on LVP a bit too hard and it’s sad.

    • HankyPanky

I know, puppy envy?? She’ll be getting a blow up flamingo next….

  • MidwestMiddie

We KNOW she really wanted a pony. LOL
    The woman is beyond phony.

  • T’s Martini Lounge

    This seemed fake to me.

  • Why is this happening to us?

One thing these rich people know how to do is hoard animals! With 4 existing dogs and 4 kids, where is she planning on putting a St Bernard/New Foundland?? Does she even have any idea how big those dogs get? Lmao…

    • Elizabeth Fisher

Her house is big. I remember when she moved in it she said it was something like 7,000-8,000 sq. feet. LVP’s new house was 10,000 sq. feet when she bought it but she did add 2,000 sq. feet to it. Kyle only films in a couple of rooms in the house and she does have a very large back yard. The doggie should be fine 🙂

      • Why is this happening to us?

Really? It’s that big?! Her house looks so small from the front. I guess the back is larger…it’s very deceiving. She does seem to only film in the same few rooms every time and the rooms we’ve seen don’t look too big.

        • Elizabeth Fisher

Her house is heavily landscaped in the front so you really can’t see how big it is.

      • RealitytvJunkie

The reason Kyle’s house looks small is because of the choppy interior filled with too many walls. Had she had an open floor plan with high ceilings her home would look spacious. I’ve seen 5,000 sqft homes look bigger than Kyle’s.

        • Elizabeth Fisher

I don’t think her home looks small. The only rooms I recall them filming was the kitchen, the sitting room, the formal dining room and her bedroom/closet.

          • Btheladyinred

Anyone who can film in their closet surely doesn’t have a small house…LOL

          • Elizabeth Fisher

            Ain’t that the truth???

      • AnEnigmaWrappedIn$nark

Thank you Lizzie! Not sure where the talk about the Umanski’s mediocre house started. I actually freeze framed the drone shot of it on the last ep. That place rambles on forever, and it short … it’s massive. In the RE industry of which I work, I deal with this all the time … I think the cozy facade (picket fence and single level street view) is throwing people. I love her ‘casual/coastal’ style too . apparently (the morally corrupt?) Fay Resnick is quite a talented designer.

        • Elizabeth Fisher

I’m definitely not crazy about what Fay did with the dining room, but I like what she did with Kyle’s closet (which was a spare bedroom). Yeah, I don’t know where this talk about her having a small house came from because I remember when she moved into this house. Even her vacation/weekend home in Palm Springs is big at 5,000 sq. feet (and it is stunningly gorgeous).

          • AnEnigmaWrappedIn$nark

When you’re husband is arguably THE biggest RE broker in CA, you’re going to have a spectacular home.

          • Elizabeth Fisher

            Yes indeedy…

    • Jane_one

She has four kids, but is one is an adult and doesn’t live with her. If the dog has a good home, that is a good thing. She has the money, room and help to have that many animals. I can find a lot of fault with Kyle, but giving a dog a home isn’t one of them.

    • SMDRN66

It’s really not the size of those dogs, it’s the drooling. We’ve had St Bernards before. Actually 2 at once. Cleo was small at 125 lbs and CJ was our moose at 185 lbs. California is hot. Not only is this dog going to drool, but he’s going to fly snot rockets all over the place. Sadly, I see a re-homing for this dog.

      • Why is this happening to us?

I have a friend with 2 St Bernards (a brother and sister) and they are definitely messy! My friends live in Boston, so the weather is better for them than the hot CA weather. I don’t know how this will go over either when she has a 150lb dog galloping through her house with the other 4 dogs! I hope the dog doesn’t get rehomed. I hate when people get animals for Christmas and then return them 😿 Hope they take good care of him.

  • wellWellwell

Another accessory for Kyle, the Stunt Queen…look at me ..look at me

  • Maria Lane

That tree is decorated exactly like Pimp Mamas I saw on a video yesterday.

    • shayvoe

That’s because it is Kris’ tree. They were at her “famous” Christmas Eve Party.

  • daisy100

she loves him so much that she left on a plane to aspen the next day.

    • Btheladyinred

      • daisy100

        true story

        • Btheladyinred

The question was why you think that is a big deal. It’s a dog not a child, my word.

  • RealitytvJunkie

God, I can’t stand dog lovers. They are usually mean spirited and very judgmental people. I especially hate when they run that bullshit about, loving animals more than humans. Just sick and twisted thinking in my book.

    • Btheladyinred

Hmm well from your own description you sound like a huge Dog lover.

    • AnEnigmaWrappedIn$nark

RJ … you don’t mean that!

  • BetteDavisEyez1

Kudos for them getting a rescue dog instead of buying a designer pup, but 5 dogs?!? That’s 3 too many for me.

  • LuxLuxLux

Gorgeous dog. She’ll be getting miniture horses next…

  • itsjustme

OK. That brought tears to my eyes. I LOVE that they rescued iinstead of going to a breeder. I also love they like BIG dogs..:)
