On The Real Housewives of New York, drama blew into Miami when Bethenny Frankel arrived on the scene. She came bearing photos of Luann de Lesseps’ fiancé Tom D’Agostino Jr. caught in a clinch with another woman. And then withheld the information until the last day of the trip. Shady, shady.

In a new interview with People NowDorinda Medley opens up about the cheating scandal. Considering she introduced the two lovebirds, she’s definitely rooting for them to weather the storm, but it’s up to them to make it work.

“My take on their relationship, it’s their relationship, and that’s what I feel like people should respect. You go through things, we’ve all made mistakes. I’m a forgiver. I am. And I just think it’s up to what Luann and Tom choose to do.”

Of course we all know that Luann chose to forgive Tom, and Dorinda confirms it.

“They love each other, the marriage is on, the save the dates are out, and it’s all about going forward. I don’t want to talk about the past anymore. I think it was such a difficult thing to not only go through at the time but to now relive again. I’m trying to respect her privacy and support them both.”

It’s kind of hard to respect her privacy when she put her new romance on reality TV and talked endlessly to tabloids about it. But according to Dorinda, Bethenny is the reason the scandal became so public.

“I think that it was very sensitive information. I would have probably handled it differently. I probably would have told them right away. I wish she had come to me, and you’ll see a little bit of that. I wish she had gone to Lu directly, and I think it was difficult to watch it play out over the weekend. That was the difficult part for me.”

It looks like Luann and Tom will have it out soon. What excuse could he possibly give that would justify his behavior? Whatever his defense, Dorinda remains hopeful.

“Life, marriage, friendships, they’re the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that defines if they’re gonna stay or not. If they make it through this with this public scrutiny, I think they’re good to go.”

What’s your take? Is Luann a fool to take him back?
