Many Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans aren’t completely surprised with the split between Yolanda Hadid, 52, and producer ex-husband, David Foster, 66.

The reality couple broke the news on the night of the RHOBH premiere, and reactions were mixed. Nevertheless, despite the big split, the two are on “good” terms. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the at UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability gala last week, Foster said,

“Her and I are really good.” He added, “I feel OK about it, and I’m just happy to be here. I’m fine being by myself.”

Yolanda and David wed in 2011, and months later, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. According to Yolanda her illness forced her to take a step back from full dedication to David, to focus on getting well. Then, on Dec. 1, 2015, just months after Yolanda‘s symptoms saw an improvement, the couple announced they were parting ways after just over four years of marriage.

Since their divorce, David has been linked to Selma Blair and the pair were spotted on a date earlier this month. At the time, it was noted that Caitlyn Jenner was also seen chatting with the rumored couple briefly.

When Yolanda appeared on Watch What Happens Live in December, she explained how her battle with Lyme disease played a role in the breakup, she admitted that it definitely placed a strain on the marriage,

“Unfortunately it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way,” she continued, and “Well, chronic long-term illness is extremely challenging,” Yolanda added. “Not only for the person sick but also for the caregiver. It for sure changed the dynamic of the relationship.”

Despite splitting from her “love,” Yolanda explained that she doesn’t want to focus on the negatives between the couple, and instead, she wants to honor the good times they shared.

“The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability, so rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shared the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times.”

Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012 and has since struggled to treat her deteriorating condition. However, in a surprising turn of events, Yolanda shared that she’s made some positive strides in her recovery,

“I am much better since the last time that I saw you,” she told Cohen. “I have about 60 percent better brain function than I did in the last year. I can still only live and plan one day at a time. The exciting thing is watching the episodes and inspiring me, and I could see the progress that I have made. I am excited and grateful for that. I will continue to fight for a full recovery.”
