Melissa Gorga is on the rise, and set to take the retail world by storm! The chic Real Housewives of New Jersey star has launched her very own boutique, called “Envy by Melissa Gorga,” in Montclair, New Jersey.

All About the Tea spoke exclusively to Melissa about her newest venture, and the chic Bravo-leb dished about how she made the jump into the world of upscale retail fashion.

We asked Melissa how she tackled her newest project, what led her to choosing to a stand alone retail spot, and why Montclair? Melissa chatted about the road that led her to her exciting new business.

“My Jewelry line on HSN has been doing so great I’ve been selling out of so many collections and I think that’s what pushed me to open up a location where people could come in and buy it. I also loved the idea of being able to pick my favorite brands and having people come in and shop “my closet”  I told Joe I wanted to start looking for locations and I went right to Montclair! It’s such a great town with lots of energy and a great vibe. Lots of people walking around the streets, great shopping and some of the best restaurants in NJ.  I’m definitely a go getter that loves to work. You will get to see it all unfold eventually.”

Is Melissa a hands-on presence in her new store? Melissa detailed how launching “Envy” turned into a true labor of love.

“This store is my baby. I am there just about everyday. I have hand picked every single piece of clothing in the store. I designed the store and picked out everything from the wallpaper to the knobs on the draws. I spend a lot of time there, I love being there. I’ve become my own little entrepreneur and I put all of myself into whatever project  working on. I hired an amazing team and have an incredible partner named Jackie.  We all work together to make it a great experience for everyone that walks through those doors.”

Melissa dished about why she decided to name her newest venture “Envy,” and how the clever name was born.

“I wanted the name to be something short, simple and chic. I called one of my best friends (Maria)  and she suggested envy. I fell in love with the name. Such a small word but says so much. In this case you want everyone to “envy” what you’re wearing!”

We asked the reality beauty if a customer could expect to see other familiar faces working at “Envy.” Is Melissa’s new business a family affair?

“As of right now, there are no family members working at my store. Besides Antonia! She thinks she’s the host when people walk in!”

What brands can her customers expect to see, when they make “Envy” their go-to shopping spot?

“I have so many great brands! I’ve been back and forth to New York to showrooms throughout the whole entire summer picking these lines. I have so many that I love. I have well-known names like Elizabeth and James, Derek Lam, Jay Godfrey, Zadig & Voltaire, I also have so many emerging designers that have the most gorgeous pieces. I made sure my price range is anywhere from $50 right up to McQueen.”

Melissa’s jewelry line, The Melissa Gorga Collection, has been a smashing HSN success. Does Melissa have plans to expand, and offer her lines in any brick and mortar retail stores, like Macy’s, Dillards, or Lord and Taylor?

“That’s definitely a goal and I would continue to keep it on HSN also. I think it’s such a great concept to be able to speak to your fans live and be able to wear the jewelry while they can call and talk to you.  If I learned anything from this business it’s to keep reaching higher. I’ve learned that with a lot of hard work it’s all attainable.”

We asked Melissa to clarify the rumor that has been swirling around the boutique opening, one claiming that Bravo is funding the new venture.

“This is 100% false. Not even one single penny. I wish!!”

Montclair, New Jersey has never looked sharper! Make sure you visit ENVY by Melissa Gorga for your holiday needs.

Congratulations to Melissa. The shop looks lovely and inviting.

And congratulations, too, to AAtT for scoring this interview.

  • Elizabeth Fisher

The shop really does look beautiful. It’s nice that she has items in her store so everyone can afford to shop there.

  • Melissa looks absoluetly stunning and the shop is gorg. The area is also very upscale, i think her business will be a huge success!

    • Izzy

Yeah, she does look stunning. I like the less is more look on her.

  • RHONJ Fan

Congrats to AATT. Great exclusive snagging Melissa Gorga. I will definitely pay the store a visit and make a few purchases. Hopefully, I get to see Melissa for a photo. I love her and so very happy for her success.

    • Izzy

Ooooh, if you do get a photo please share!

  • twifan2

What’s ‘$50 right up to McQueen mean?

    • TopGear

The clothing pieces range in price from $50 all the way up to Alexander McQueen (thousands of dollars) prices.

      • twifan2

        Oh ok, TopGear. Thanks! 🙂
I was like ‘McQueen who?’ o.0 NOT a fashionista myself.

  • TheBeverlyHillsHaveEyes

Thanks for this post, I was wondering if she had a partner or not. I think the store looks fab! Very chic and I love the shelves, it makes Kim D’s place look like a cluttered old charity shop. I think Melissa has the brains to make this shop great. I wish her every success.

    • WestCoastFeed

Yes, she has a partner who also owns a shop in Florida. Melissa has done modelling shoots for her in the past.

      • TheBeverlyHillsHaveEyes

Interesting. Sounds like a good connection for a fashion store.

    • TopGear

I agree. No comparsion to Kim D’s trashy stores in strip malls.

  • TopGear

Thanks for this article. Very happy for Melissa’s store opening. The location is perfect and the store looks truly upscale.

    • Izzy

It will stay upscale as long as they don’t hire Treape as a thief, oops I mean employee.

  • WestCoastFeed

In other NJ news, the Wakiles are moving today. I hope cameras are rolling.

  • Digitus impudicus

This is the most unemployable HW ever — first, she fails at singing. Next, she failed at being an author, next she failed with cheap-ass skank jewelry. Now, she will fail with this store. All bogus.

    • aemish

How is she failing on HSN??

      • Digitus impudicus

Because she is NOT a “jewelry designer.” Just like she’s not a real singer. This trick has absolutely no talent whatsoever except acting like typical Jersey Shore trash.

        • aemish

So? Like Cindy Crawford is in there designing and building every scrap of Rooms To Go furniture. They approve designs they like and agree to put their name on them.

          • Izzy

A very valid point! You’se is smart!!

          • aemish

            And kiiiiind.. and important… :p

          • Izzy

Of course! One of my all time fave movies!

          • aemish

            ✿◠‿◠

          • Izzy

            🙂

          • toolate2care2000

Like Teresa had anything to do with Milania hair care? ANYTHING?? If Messy had anything really at stake besides a commission don’t you think she might actually wear a piece of her own crap every now and then?

          • WestCoastFeed

She does wear it. I’ve seen pictures just recently showing her wearing them

          • Izzy

I have also seen pics of Mel wearing her pieces.

          • Izzy

Just curious, did Teresa have anything to do with the failed food line that she put out? Did she eat those products all the time? More importantly were they her recipes, or did she steal those too?

          • aemish

Huh? I’m confoozled at your bizarre-o conflation between the two…

          • toolate2care2000

Just agreeing, no conflation – all three are alike but still three separate stories. Crawford not a furniture designer. Giudice not a chemist. Gorga not a jewelry designer. Each hawk a product probably for a share of the profits..

          • Digitus impudicus

Yeah, and perfumes, etc. Which is why I don’t pay for that shit. If you buy that second-tier crap because of the name, you’re the loser.

        • fred

Do You know that 99.9% of Jersey Shore people are hard working honest, good , tax paying everyday people ,you are the loser!

          • Digitus impudicus

Um, perhaps for about $100, she will give you a sloppy BJ in your local favorite parking lot, captain save-a-ho. After all, she needs the money because she and midget can’t pay a loan.

    • Her jewelry line sold out on HSN.

      • Digitus impudicus

There’s no underestimating the taste of RHONJ fans! 🙂

  • URRT~princess of pinot

It looks better than the cluttered Poshce

    • Izzy

Sure does! Posche looks old and weathered just like it’s owner!

    • aemish

+1! That place looks like an attic!

      • Izzy

        You’re too nice!

        • aemish

          haha :p

  • Izzy

Congratulations to Melissa. She looks great, and the shop is lovely!

  • WestCoastFeed

When does she put Teresa to work stocking the shelves?

    • aemish

      Uhhh,, nEvvvvva!

      • Izzy

The ape would set off the sensors every couple of minutes with da bling bling around her ankle!

        • aemish

and crap shoved into her kids’ backpacks!

          • Izzy

            Exactly!

    • Izzy

NO!!! That bish will steal from Melissa!

  • sideof Sour Cream

I don’t care for Melissa, & would never seek out a store called “envy”. BUT that said, for what it is, it does look nice. I like that she has stocked a lot of neutrals and it doesn’t look cluttered.

  • jane

    ITA!

    • jane

This was meant for sideof Sour Cream! Bloody IPad!

      • E P 🎿

LOL It happens to the best of us, Merry Christmas jane🎄

  • T’s Martini Lounge

She better watch out for her sticky fingers convicted felon sister in law! She’ll rape that cash register and steal clothes to sell them out of her trunk. Know it.

  • WestCoastFeed

The BOP has reportedly given Teresa permission to film while under house arrest.

    • MidwestMiddie

      Darn ………
Makes you wonder – Can the BOP be paid off?
      NBC/BRAVO carry big wallets.

    • aemish

      Figures.

    • TheBeverlyHillsHaveEyes

Jeez. Great message to put out there to young impressionable people. Cheat, lie, steal and defraud but still have a fab lifestyle in a big house and do it all on TV, it’s okay.

    • Who’s gonna do my hair?

bills will get paid, hopefully. I feel sorry for the children having to listen to all the adult back and forth stuff.

    • Chloe

This is not a confirmed fact. I wish you would stop being misleading with your armchair crack reporting from ROL.
