Could Kim Richards be hitting rock bottom…again? “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star sat down with television doctor, Dr. Phil, to discuss her battle with alcoholism, and recent arrest, following a drunken rampage at the Beverly Hills Hotel, on April 16th. The interview will air as a special episode on Tuesday, April, 28th.

Richards was charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting arrest, and battery on an officer, after reportedly refusing to leave the Beverly Hills Hotel, after becoming ornery and bothering other customers, in the hotel’s restaurant. Her sobriety, or lack thereof, was a major focus of the just wrapped season of her Bravo reality show, with Kim adamantly insisting that she was maintaining stone cold sobriety, and hadn’t even been struggling with the addiction monster that has plagued her for decades.

Her story line took disturbing twists and turns, with her off camera arrest crushing all of her blathering, finger-pointing demands that questioning her condition was out of line. Kim finally takes some responsibility with Dr. Phil, her back against a wall that has no shady best friend, or enabling bystanders holding it up. Richards commented,

“I was angry and frightened and I was scared,. I knew what I had done. The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn’t drink.”

Evidently, it takes being dragged out of a bathroom, booting an officer, and getting arrested to push Richards to some accountability.  Who else could she blame for such a careening spectacle?

“Ms. Richards was displaying symptoms of alcohol intoxication including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest,” the police department said.

Her sister, Kyle, is FOR SURE in the clear on this one! Has Richards truly chosen to face her demons head on, and with what motives do you think she approached this interview?  Has she bottomed out to the point where yet another stint in rehab may actually trigger change? This interview appears reminiscent of the sit down that she had with Andy Cohen about three years ago, when she admitted her raging problem, and sincerely committed to aggressively pursuing sobriety. As any addict knows, the struggle is real, and rarely completely vanishes, the way Richards claimed it had this season.

Will Kim try and pull off that the public drunken meltdown was an isolated incident? Will Dr. Phil approach the subject of a possible pill dependency? Dr. Phil is used to addicts trying to bamboozle him….how do you think this interview will go down?
