Season 7 of “The Real Housewives of New York” premiered last week with a bang! Returning cast member, Bethenny Frankel opens up about her return and what she says might shock you:

“I am so thrilled to be back on ‘The Real Housewives of New York.’ I never thought I would say those words, because I really was ready to leave when I did. I do believe you need to know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em, and I needed to make an exit at that time.”

Stunning, right?  She has been very honest in stating in previous interviews that she was embarrassed that she was a part of the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise. She now says that she is glad to be back but doesn’t tell us what brought her back.  Did she miss the show? The fast pace of filming? Is she looking for positive publicity before the custody hearing? Publicity for her brand since we’ve since learned that she owns 100 percent of the brand?

P.S. Does is seem to you that Andy most loves the wives who reject him and his work, or who are abusive to him in some way?  Teresa flipping him over a chair. Nene (and Gregg) and their hateful comments. Bethenny and her RH shame.  Feel free to spend some time with Dr. Jeff, Sir Andy. Bethenny goes on to state:

“Poetically, what followed my exit was a very dark, sad, scary, and challenging time that many of you can relate to. I’m glad I went through what I did alone, because I don’t think I would have been very entertaining or enlightening.”

I believe that she had every intention of having a “happily ever after” marriage. Moving her then-happy marriage away from the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise is what makes her one of the smartest housewives, in my opinion.  If her marriage worked another 50 years, it would have been wonderful, but she at least gave her marriage a chance without inviting the other HWs into her life to critique her role as a wife and mother. She writes:

“We are all on a journey and that journey takes many turns. I have experienced incredible and very public successes and failures. I owe many of my successes to you and many of my failures to myself. I own it all.”

Oh my word! Have we ever heard from a HW who isn’t blaming Bravo and the editors or blaming the fans for wanting “too much” when things don’t go their way? I may end up on #TeamBethenny after all. I am torn between wondering if she is laying it on too thick or if it is genuine gratitude when she adds:

“I have a beautiful daughter, the greatest, purest, most humbling gift of my life, which makes all of it seem so inconsequential. I have an incredibly exciting and inspiring career, and I have been lucky enough to have you.”

Ah, I spoke too soon on a possible #TeamBethnny membership… here is the ‘Housewives’ hard sell:

“We’ve been together since my small apartment to having the international Skinnygirl brand ranging from cocktails to non-alcoholic beverages and bars, chips, dips, microwave popcorn, sweeteners, coffee, salad dressings, candy, appliances, and so on. Thank you for helping me create something amazing.”

I am assuming that “we” is a reference to her daughter – but given the rest of the sentence, it may also be a reference to the SkinnyGirl team.  You are one of the truly successful self-made housewives.  I can only say, keep doing you, Bethenny. Keep doing you.
