Kathy Wakile

Just in time for Easter, it’s contest time at All About the Tea!

Great idea about the contest. But why is it that I want to eat every dessert on that table? LOL

    • cait

Because it’s there ! Is that enough, Soph ?

      • Sophia Z.

haha. Yes you are absolutely correct on that.

  • toolate2care2000

Ha, ha,ha! If I wanted one of these books, I hear Amazon has plenty and I would have bought one by now. Best seller list of pre-ordered books, on a Wednesday, during a full moon – gotta love these RHONJ losers

  • WestCoastFeed

Congratulations, AAtT, for scoring this contest. May a cook as loving as Kathy herself win.

  • twifan2

Can you supply someone to bake up these goodies for me? 🙂

    • MidwestMiddie

I love baking but not the cleaning up!!!!

      • cait

That’s what the bin is for, honey !

      • twifan2

        I buy them. I don’t ‘bake’.
Bad idea for me to even attempt it. Fire Dept. is dead set against me in the kitchen. 🙂

        • MidwestMiddie

          Oh!
Is that YOUR photo posted at the Fire Department?
          : )

          • twifan2

Chats took the fall for the last ‘fire’ we had here. 😉
Since the Fire Dept-among others-already have his ‘pic’ on file, they used his. 🙂

    • cait

Can’t help, as I’m excluded from this horrible comp. ‘cos I don’t live in the Good Ol’ US of A ! Who do I sue ? Want that book badly ! Need that book badly !

      • twifan2

Chats says to send you my copy. :/
You want it, cait? It’s just gathering dust-I don’t dust-on my bookshelf.

  • Love Kathy! This should be fun. Looking forward to it.

  • DLister

I gotta give tremendous kudos to the graphic artist who designed the book cover. It is gorgeous and immediately appealing.

    • Sophia Z.

Being a Communications & Packaging Designer myself, I cannot pass up your comment. It is the photographer, food stylist and the set designer that did the good job. The type on this book has severe kerning issues (there is no attempt at kerning) & type selection choices left to be desired and only those of inexperience. But I suppose credit could be given for good photo cropping. Sorry, my intention is not cattiness but more of lack of restraint in my disdain for the poor technical aspects of this “design”. Design can be subjective but when there are technical issues then I know there is a novice in the background.

      • Wow! I’m impressed with your knowledge.

        • Sophia Z.

Thank you, Loving Heart (appropriate name). You are very kind and I appreciate your vote of confidence. Sometimes we all need that. xxxooo

          • Rochelle Barozzi

Yes, Thank You! As a layman I didn’t even notice them until you pointed them out. It was fun to read your professional thought on it!

          • Sophia Z.

Wow, thank you! I thought I was a dork for being so detailed about it. It’s kind of my passion but who knew other’s would be interested? I’m very glad you found something interesting in the details. I would write more about it but I feel that I need to respect this site as it is all about the shows and not my opinions on design. LOL. I would love for you to add me on twitter also if you so please. powerflower99. Maybe I should start discussing design on there?!?! I look forward to getting to know your opinions on these shows in further posts. I’m always curious if people are Brandi fans or not. I respect both sides. Gina, who posts here a lot has a lot of very interesting theories of why things happen on the show. I don’t think that deep about them so her perspective makes me feel like I’m uncovering a Government top secret plot. xoxo

          • Rochelle Barozzi

            Done! @FallonMomma here!

          • Sophia Z.

So glad you did. As I did also. You’re a no drama gal, LOVE IT! xox

          • Rochelle Barozzi

I try to keep an even keel. And see both sides. Not that it always works. And I have been on social media toooo long, to take anything personal. Ever LOL

          • Sophia Z.

You and I will get along just fine then. I agree 100% with what you have said.

          • Likewise. xoxo

      • DLister

Good beautiful morning, Sophia! I know this may be a weird request for the future — but I just adored reading your expertise, and would love your official design take on other HW or other book covers! I can’t thank you enough for teaching me today, letting me into your world. Do you have a design blog? If not — girlfriend, you honestly should.

Sophia, I am very visually stimulated, always have been. I actually love looking at product packaging, signs, adverts and even store windows. I’m kinda nerdy that way, but I love it!

You are a gem and I’m happy my comment brought you forth. Cheers!

        • Sophia Z.

Good beautiful afternoon to you, DLister! Oh my goodness, thank you for your sweet message. I’m really touched. I worried all night that my message would offend you and that is not where I was going. Your words came as a huge relief to me and also warmed my heart.
No. I don’t have a design blog. I suppose if I would get off of these websites I would have the time, LOL. But then I wouldn’t have much of a balanced life. Thank you for asking. And FYI – these basic things I mentioned are things any Designer could tell you.
DLister, if you are spending time looking at packaging and other design, I highly suggest you start thinking about perhaps pursuing Design at some level in your life. It sounds to me like you probably have a talent for it. I’m happy to prod you in this direction in the future if you are so interested.
As far as the other Housewives, I haven’t seen any books other than Brandi’s. Her books are aimed at a specific market to women much like Cosmo or other rags. The colors and photography are well thought out but beyond that I haven’t looked that closely. But if you post a cover, I will tell you my personal thoughts.
I hope to see you more on this site. I really enjoyed reading your perspective but mostly loved your personal message to me. Thank you. xxxoooxxx

          • DLister

Hello, my talented new friend! XOXo to you too! I’d love for AATT to welcome your insights when a book or something visually “branded” is debuted. Heck, if I had a blog, you’re in, girl! 🙂

I am an independent writer and copy editor. I adore words and written expression. I also type about 120 wpm. I am very blessed with what G-d gave me (Jewish folk use a dash instead of the lower-case “o” in His name). Every day is a joy … and I hope you feel the same!

In the past few years, I have been graced to have been so deeply inspired by other women who create and cultivate their own talents for the betterment of their communities and the world in general. I wish I could somehow create something to celebrate all of them — and include you! 🙂 Who knows what G-d will bring … but every day (good or bad) is a positive step in that journey …

          • Sophia Z.

xoxox… You’re very kind to me. Thank you. I love this site so much. The people here are so extraordinary and that includes you. I’m fascinated what you wrote about G-d. I had no idea. There are not many Jews around where I live as there isn’t even a temple. But have many Jewish friends in Phoenix. Oh the food. I will never forget the incredible food. I don’t care where we went, my friends would pack up the most amazing homemade deliciousness. I never cared where we went as it was all about the food for me. I’d weigh 500 pounds if men were non existent.
Okay so you are in a creative field. I felt your creative energy and vibe. I have a friend that is a “copywriter” that names new companies and products and clears a million (at least) a year. Something to think about.
I completely hear you on women that inspire you. I feel the same. We overcome so much in our personal and professional careers. Equal pay for equal work for a small bite for one. You inspire me too so it works both ways. I’m finding in life that if you appreciate even the smallest things and genuinely thank G-d for them, the rewards are deep and the journey is positive. xoxox
Add me on twitter if you like and let me know who you are when you do. powerflower99 Love and kindness to you.

          • DLister

Love you, Ms. Sophia! Thank you so much! I’ll always be here for you. That’s a fact! XOXO!

          • Sophia Z.

I love you too, DLister. Thank you also. As I will always be here for you also. Thank you mostly for having such a kind heart. xxxoooxoxox

      • Nancy Krystofik

I did find the photo of figs, honey, cheese, and fruit very appealing , it’s in the very front of the book. Made me want to make it, might be a few olives on there as well!

        • Sophia Z.

You’re making me hungry. It’s 6:30 AM in my very small area. I have been neglecting buying groceries. Where can I find cheese and olives at this hour? I suppose 7-11 may have some spray cheese and maybe processed olive spread … perhaps an old, bruised banana too. Somehow it just doesn’t sound as appealing as your description.

  • cait

My name is Teresa Guidice and I would like you to send me a signed copy of this book ! I’m so PLEASED for my cousin !

    • MidwestMiddie

      ROFLMAO …….
      “Kudos!”

    • twifan2

You going to put your face on the cover & sell it as yours, Tre? :/

      • Sophia Z.

LMAO. Nice type choice for the Author. Appropriate. I can’t stop laughing.

      • Rochelle Barozzi

        LOLOL!!!

      • LMAO!

      • Nancy Krystofik

Okay, this is the funniest thing!, I hope “the Tree” gets to see this!

      • RonnieIsBack

        LMAO!!!

      • Shy-ra

I hope Kathy saw this! Most likely would crack her up!! Too funny 🙂

  • RubyT

Kathy has always been one of my favorites. I wish she was back as a full time housewife. She can replace Teresa anytime….And outcook her, too.

    • Sophia Z.

I agree. I have always liked Kathy. I think she has a huge heart that she tends to wear on her sleeve. That makes her very interesting. My favorite time was when she had the commercial kitchen. Her thoughts and the dynamics of what she was doing made for good tv.

    • MidwestMiddie

      I agree – 100%.
AND the bonus is – Tre knowing Kathy is respected and wanted by Bravo Fans….
not Teresa, not Gia, not Joe.
      🙂

  • Beverly Bookman DeRosa

I always have to come here first thing so I can keep up with RHONJ. Kathy’s desserts inspire me to go back to the passion I used to have for baking. I love trying new ingredients and experimenting. AATT cracks me up with the Saturday funnies, which can hit to the bone, lol. Pictures are very important to me in cookbooks and I would love to impress my friends with Kathy’s yummy treats!

  • amy

    Dear Editor,
I hope I don’t upset you with my comment, you did say you care what your readers think.
    I love the recaps.
I like the coverage by Stacy.
I like you report on the news.
One thing I tend to get turned off by is the constant coverage of Teresa Giudice.
I sense the editor loathes Teresa. You are not alone, I never cared for Teresa going back to the days when Lynn N Chicago predicted she would go to jail.
I think by you constantly reporting on her you give her exactly what she wants.
Stacy made a great point on Angela Stanton post. She often pitches to networks for clients.
For Teresa to be in jail and the constant coverage in the mags, this is not a coincidence. I am not saying this is Teresa, I am saying this is T’s PR.
I couldn’t understand why the cheating stories are coming out from her PR. Then it dawned on me. T’s PR is going whatever they can to keep her relevant.
I think the more you give in and give T the attention T and her Team craves, you are helping her, even with the Saturday funnies. Those are funny by the way. Maybe you can make a nick name for T so it won’t help her?

    • All About The Tea

This is a gossip blog that focuses on reality TV, not CNN. We do not cover national or world news unless it involves a celeb connected to reality TV. Please read our “about section” here http://allaboutthetea.com/about-us/

      • amy

This is what I was afraid of.
Of course you are not CNN and I understand this is a gossip blog.
I think you underestimate the popularity of your website; you were referenced by Huff Post and other outlets. You know just as well as I do Wendy Williams hit topics lurks here.

As I said in my original comment, you said you care about what readers think.

Not every Reality TV star is a convicted felon that perpetuates a sick plan to stay relevant Like T does. Most people would cower from embarrassment and not want to show their face. But it’s for my children… Says T.

I am trying to be nice and not insult the people who appear on Reality TV, I will say this.
Every time I see that Planet of the Apes forehead, I gag. The way she uses her children for sympathy pisses me off to end. She is addicted to media attention and the Press and blogs stopped talking about her, I swear, she would pretend to rescue a hundred dogs to get the attention of a blogspot blog.

        • RonnieIsBack

LOL I hear ya but blogs post what creates hot topics (like Wendy) and topics about Tre gets folks talking…good or bad folks are facinated with this felon….
It will dry up soon…until then….hey post away and enjoy 😉

      • amy

By the way, just because I give feedback does not mean you have to listen. I hope you are not upset with me. This is your website and you can do what you wish.
I was just taking this oppurtunity to say this because of the article.

        • All About The Tea

Thank you for your feedback. We welcome feedback so no, we’re not upset. Thanks for your compliments and the recommendations. Of course, we take all feedback into consideration.

        • MidwestMiddie

I agree with you about the less we see and hear about
Felon Tre and her family —- THE BETTER!!
However, in my opinion, the Giudice Press Complaints –
          should be sent to Bravo.
The Bravo Network kept the Felons on the RHNJ to make a profit.
The network gave them to us. GAG!!!

  • Beverly Bookman DeRosa

Since RHONJ is the only reality show I watch, I do want to hear about all the housewive’s families. Jacqulines father truly looks embarrassed by it all. Since the Wakile family, to me show true class and have the nicest, most well mannered, stable children, I feel they deserve the recognition Kathy and her true art (everything she cooks) bring them. Kathy, please hurry with the dinner cookbook: )

  • KrisAnon

Hi! I just have to comment about the article exposing Bobby Ciasulli !
Watching RHONJ he DID seem like he was hiding something; and THAT was what Jimmy was meaning when he threatened to tell stuff he knew about him.
It’s a total shame that someone with his type of money could go on a reality show for “fame”. BUT, the worst part about it is how he played with Nicole’s feelings on it.
I didn’t much care for Jimmy during that scene in Florida, I thought he was being a pompous jerk, but NOW I see he was just trying to make Bobby do right and expose the deception and his relationship with Nicole.
This reminds me of another man, Slade, that was on RHOOC, where everyone was accusing him of jumping from on housewife to the next just to be on the show and be famous. Later, he DID prove to really fall in love; I think. I had lost track of that one while I watch RHONJ from Season 1 until present on Hutu Plus LOL. (I plan on going and catching all the seasons on OC and NY housewives next while waiting on RHONJ to come back on!
The bright side of this Bobby betrayal, IF you could say there is one, is that he was outed immediately; whereas it took a few seasons of wife hopping for Slade to settle LOL.

I LOVE YOU KATHY and I plan to post my feelings about your cooking, the book, and how you were treated because of those in another post; among other reasons I felt you got raw end of story lines. 🙂
CONGRATS on the Book. I’m southern, Texas then Oklahoma, so I would be thrilled to try some of the recipes in your book. I’m proud you followed your dream!!!! (ooops that goes next somewhere LOL)

    • RonnieIsBack

Welp his sorry azz was exposed during the reunion…when Jim had pics of his stalking and taking selfies with all the HWs from all ovah…I died!

      • KrisAnon

I know, right? I had posted that comment before I watched the reunion shows. I missed on TV & purchased on YouTube. I had finished whole season when saw contest. Posted, then saw, what I had believed already, played out at reunion. TOTALLY FLOORED though. Still not feeling Jim b/c how he handled stuff, like a gossiping female out to destroy, but he was right! Found documents/contracts that Jim wrote up and Bobby signed stating if Jim got him on the show, he would not slander Jim, etc., AND Bobby couldn’t film ANY additional shows for Bravo without Jim being paid! Jim was like his agent ROFL.
That is what Jim was trying show Joey Gorga at reunion. UNREAL!!!

  • MidwestMiddie

IF ONLY Danbury’s Inmates could sign on……….
    I’ll bet they’re Kathy Fans.
    What Fun!!!
    : )

    • Beverly Bookman DeRosa

Does Tre work for the Danbury Mint? lol

  • Beverly Bookman DeRosa

I do wish AATT would put up more blind items.. It seems these last ones have been here for ever. Is it just me…….wanting to cook up some yummy bites? I started my kids cooking when they were about 8-9. I betcha Victoria is a quite accomplished cook herself. Glad you’re well again Victoria.

  • Beverly Bookman DeRosa

I want to join in on the celebration of Kathy’s delectable cookbook. You’re a lady Kathy, and don’t let anybody tell you any different:)

  • RonnieIsBack

Yassss this is a great contest…..!!!! Her cookbook is way better that Cooking with Jailbirds…

  • MidwestMiddie

Only 13 more days until I get back my Sugar High!!
Lent will be over and my Easter Basket will be filled with chocolate bunnies,
cream-filled eggs, colorful jelly beans, marshmallow “carrots” and more ………..

Tip – If you know any Sugar Lover Forgoing Sugary Sweets during Lent, “HIDE”
their Easter Basket IN PLAIN SIGHT. Your survival depends upon it.
    : )

  • Sophia Z.

My dearest wonderful friends at All About The Tea: I just received my cookbook in the mail. Thank you so very much for sending it to me. It’s just beautiful. Easy to read directions and not so complicated recipes. I’m very excited to get started in the kitchen. Thank you so much for having this contest and the opportunity for any of us to win. I will always hold this book near to me in the kindness in which it was offered. xox I LOVE THIS WEBSITE!!!

    • You ROCK Sophia! xo

      • Sophia Z.

If I rock then you are the Radiohead of all rockers! xox
        Yes, that’s a huge compliment.

  • Sissy Riley Reed

I would love to win a book but if not Im going to buy one anyway, I love the fact the recipes are easy and not complicated

  • Nancy Krystofik

I think Kathy and her family are so lovely. I look forward to a tour of her new house, especially her kitchen. I really like how Tre’s name is not mentioned in Kathy’s success she has worked so hard for. It’s a beautiful cook book!
