When Joe and Teresa Giudice were interviewed recently on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, one of the questions left unanswered was why the time sensitive, court ordered $200,000 in restitution was left unpaid at the reality couple’s sentencing hearing almost two weeks ago.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star and her husband, Joe Giudice, were both sentenced to federal prison on numerous counts of fraud, after pleading guilty in March to defrauding lenders of more than $4.6 million.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Teresa has now paid a portion of the court ordered restitution, in the amount of $200,000. The Giudices had months to arrange the restitution  payment, and when questioned by Bravo’s,  Andy Cohen as to what the issue was, Joe mumbled a vague statement about having it set up, then losing track of it, while Teresa bluntly stated that they simply didn’t have the money. One of their attorneys told the judge at the hearing that he was waiting for some checks to clear. About $150,000 of the payment was secured through a contract advance of Teresa’s, and $50,000 was obtained as a loan from a friend, her attorney said. A contract advance for what?? That question is a biggie.

The $200,000 will go towards the $414,588 in restitution that the couple have been ordered to pay.

In other Giudice criminal news, Joe is set to appear tomorrow in state court in Paterson to face charges that he presented false identification, actually belonging to his brother, to obtain a driver’s license while under suspension due to a drunk driving conviction.

While the charges carry up to a 10 year prison sentence, a Passaic County assistant prosecutor said at a hearing last month that a plea deal will likely be offered, allowing Joe to serve the prison term concurrently with his federal sentence.

Could tomorrow bring the actual wrap up of the Giudice criminal escapade saga?  If for some reason, Joe doesn’t accept the plea deal, the case could go to trial. Then the fun continues. I can’t imagine even Joe being that foolish..but you just never know with these two.
