Kristen Taekman has just won my heart as a viewer!  She can pretty much hit a lot of low roads and I will always remember that she is the only HW trying to help Sonja rather than gossip about her and feel superior to her because of her financial circumstances.  So it kicks, just a little, when Sonja mocks the lack of style in Kristen and Josh’s Tribeca apt.  Sonja, in her discussion with Josh, gives the laundry list of opportunities she’s been offered and he keeps trying to get her to narrow down her options to 1 or 2 realistic things.  He is as insensitive to Sonja as he is to Kristen, in my opinion, basically telling her that she’s nuts. He’s right, she doesn’t listen, but using words like “delusional” and “crazy” go a bit too far. How about “lost” and “directionless” instead?

RHONY

Carole is hanging out at her L.A. home while her NYC apt is undergoing its own facelift. She shares her dating woes with her L.A. girlfriends, noting that her NYC girlfriends are probably tired of hearing about her dating life. She plays the oddest voicemail breakup message I’ve ever heard. She rightly surmises that a man she has never dated has broken up with her before they could ever go. She’s lost nothing. He seemed strange over the phone.

RHONY

Ramona, Shane (her friend, playfully referred to as her gay husband), and Mario join Kristen and Josh who are all waiting for Heather, the evening’s host. Heather has a home in the Berkshires and is feeding the guys steak and caviar to make up for taking the women away. Mario happily thanks her for taking Ramona.  Yeah.  I’ll let you mull that one over. Mario asks where the Berkshires are, and Ramona laughs, crassly – because no one visits the Berkshires. If she’s never been, how does she know that it’s not worth visiting? Put me up in a trailer park near Venice Beach and I’m THERE!  Grass hut in your backyard near the waterfront?  Well thank you!  I know I’m going to hate myself for this, but Countess Lu was right… money can’t buy you class.  I wonder if she dedicated the track to Ramona.

RHONY

Heather has invited everyone, only Aviva is unable to make it due to camp visitation for HarrisonSonja, who is not at dinner, is on the list of invitees. Lu, sitting next to her celeb look-a-like beau, may have dedicated the song to herself – she comments that Sonja is afraid to leave home because she thinks it will be taken before she returns (laughter at the table, with Heather declaring the comment “funny”). Irony, Lu thinks it is bad form when Josh begins trashing Sonja at the dinner table and talking about how deluded she is.  This raises Ramona’s hackles and she puts Josh in his place. It feels more like Ramona was standing up against Josh and Kristen than she was standing up for Sonja.

RHONY

Carole is meeting with Kristen and Richard Easton (matchmaker; no Patti Stanger?  My, how Bravo has grown).  Easton tells Carole that women with legs like hers should never wear pants and she should know that men like women who are accomplished but who are also girly girls.  I think Carole should be looking for the exit with this guy, but no… she lets him plan to set up blind dates for her.  They can meet for drinks and then decide if they want to continue on to dinner.  Carole worries that the date may not want to have dinner with her. She learns her first real Bravo lesson. Never say anything you will later wish you could take back. In her TH (talking head interview) she says that she’s up for anything at least once, including anal… and then she asks that they not use the footage… and we’re talking about it, SO? How’s that workin’ for ya?

Sonja and Lu (who just made a joke about her losing her home) meet for aerial yoga.  They are joined by Ramona.  Sonja is distant and not exactly happy to see her friend. Aerial yoga? Hilarious to see them try the moves.  I know what NOT to put on my bucket list, folks. When the session is over, Ramona complains again about the nowhere place nobody goes. Sonja says she goes every couple of months to get in touch with her roots, and to get down to earth.  She comments on visiting American Indian sweat lodges (after making sure that the use of the term “American Indian” is ok with Countess Lu).  Ramona, who just came back from Africa and went all Kumbaya on everyone, has reverted back to whining about her first world problems – no pool, no tennis courts, no luxury, she doesn’t want to do humble. Humble is what she came from and she had a horrible upbringing.  Going back to the Berkshires, a place she’s never been – right?, would remind of that horrible time in her life in upstate NY.  Am I the only one experiencing déjà vu? Didn’t this come up before?

RHONY

MORE Ramona, who feels she could buy 20 homes in the Berkshires for the cost of her home in the Hamptons.  The Berkshires is for people who can’t afford the Hamptons. Ramona wonders if she has air conditioning. I thought she was going to ask about indoor plumbing and running water, next.  It turns out that Heather doesn’t have air conditioning.  Lu, Ramona, and Sonja want to turn around with that news about the fresh country breeze instead of machine cooled air. Ramona orders air conditioning – I can’t wait to see what that means.  Window unit?  Whole house? Meanwhile, the trip with the Three Amigas is the best comedy of the season. Lu’s driving scares them and Ramona and Sonja cling to each other like newborn kittens in a litter.

RHONY

Heather is knocking herself out to make everything perfect, because, “Ramona is a picky ass bitch”.  This is the one time I wouldn’t have faulted Heather for narrowing down the guest list. When the trio arrives, Ramona is confused as to whether they have arrived at the actual house or if they are meeting at the garage.  Sonja (yes, SONJA) takes a swipe and says that she’s staying in the SUV because it’s air conditioned and almost as big as the house. Sonja? Stop. Personally, I think Heather’s home is beautiful and the setting is amazing, but I’ve seen too many Friday the 13th movies so I would have to pass.

Heather gets the last laugh when she gives Ramona a room on the top floor… with the heat rising.  More talk of RamonaKristen confides to Carole, during their car ride, that she believes that Ramona hates her and her recounts the wine throwing incident. Carole tries to make her feel better. When they arrive, all of the ladies gather in the kitchen as the doorbell rings. Swear to goodness, Ramona’s portable air conditioner arrives.  I don’t know if I think she’s a total bitch or a BOSS!  I’m leaning towards BOSS… controlling, manipulating, sometimes overbearing boss, but one who gets shit done. Heather is shocked to hear there is an air conditioner coming into her home and the installer is already half way up the stairs. Singer makes no apologies, she should, but she doesn’t.

RHONY

There is an extra scene of Kristen and Carole on a hammock and Lu and Heather on a swing. Heather (unintentionally) knocks a Bravo camera operator over. My thought? The women at aerial yoga may have been younger, but these women could teach them a thing or two about enjoying life.

We return to Heather making an unfortunate comment about Ramona being the oldest, being menopausal and in need of air conditioning.  Way to go killing by “women at midlife rock” buzz.  Heather and Ramona are exhausting.  Heather wants to swim in a nearby pond, Ramona asserts in a TH that she is not a frog and does not want to go… then goes and complains about having to carry canoes. Ramona (speaking in a TH) is then happy that Lu, with her broad “linebacker shoulders”, is there to help carry the heavy canoes. Even not knowing about the slam, Lu is tired of her.  Out on the peaceful water, the women seem to be calming down and enjoy the fishing, until they begin taking digs at each other.

RHONY

RHONY

This eventually leads to Ramona bringing up an issue with Kristen at the last dinner, where Josh mocked Sonja. Ramona is still upset that Kristen didn’t kick Josh under the table to get him to shut up. Kristen swims up to their boat, overhears the conversation and splashes water into the boat. Ramona throws a glass and it hits Kristen, splitting her lip. Holy Gray Tights, Batman!  It doesn’t fall to the level of vicious attack a la Porsha Williams on Kenya Moore, but GEEZ, it’s a line not typically crossed on this show. Sad. While not formally apologizing, Ramona is at least embarrassed by the situation, now, as evidenced by her tweet.

About the Author

I’m an exasperated soap fan who keeps hanging on – waiting for the daytime I once loved to return to its former glory! Hey, it doesn’t hurt to have a dream. I learned to love soaps thanks to my wonderful mother and grandmother. I’ll always have fond memories of daytime, most especially of ‘Another World’, my first stoap love. The ever great, but sadly defunct, daytime shows like Ryan’s Hope, Search for Tomorrow, The Doctors, Loving, and many others keep a special place in my heart, as well.

I would sue Ramona’s ass. On twitter she is claiming the glass is plastic..Bullchit!

    • twifan2

      Plastic can still cut.
      :/

      • RonnieIsBack

        Agreed.

        • noarguingwithstupid

The woman was bleeding!!! Do we just throw things at folks now when we are mad?????

    • noarguingwithstupid

I don’t care if it’s made of paper mache—-You don’t throw things in people’s faces!!! Ramona needs to go and I mean off the show!!!

      • RonnieIsBack

Agreed. And she kept saying Yeah I did it, so what!. I cannot stand that ole heaux.

    • How in the world does plastic cut someone?

      • noarguingwithstupid

If it’s pointy, it can cut like a knife!!

  • RonnieIsBack

    Great recap as usual!!!!

    • Norrth

      Thank you.

  • Birdie11

A few observations…Kristen’s apartment’s decor is cute and child friendly. Someone should tell Sonja that not everyone is into granny hoarder, circa 1935. I vote for letting Kristen’s kids loose in there, and see how much they destroy in 30 seconds. The Berkshires look fab, Heather’s house is lovely, and I want ON that swing! I am crushed that this is apparently the season of crabby, complaining Ramona. No one famous visits the Berkshires? Since when is that Pinot’s weekend getaway criteria? What happened to that crazy, happy bitch I have grown to love?? CURSE you Mario!!

    • Norrth

I love that Kristen’s place (and Carole’s) looks and feels like a home and not some “designer show house”. Kristen seems to put her energy into making her children happy, not in keeping a ridiculously expensive piece of furniture in heirloom condition.

  • pixntrix

Stop the violence on the HW franchise…holy cow Ramona has gone too far! And I loved Heather’s house, the swing and hammock!

    • Norrth

I loved Heather’s house. I can’t believe Ramona thought it was a garage. Really? Not nice. I have an community that is geographically close but economically light years away where the garages that large – I know the difference and I’ refuse to believe that Ramona didn’t. I would be happy to be the reigning queen of the Berkshires to live in that house… if you add a lot more lighting outside, I’m cowardly in that way.

      • Birdie11

That comment was beyond rude. It hardly looked like a garage.

        • Norrth

Ramona’s Hamptons house doesn’t have a garage, does it? I don’t remember seeing one. It’s not like she has some monster garage the size of Heather’s house. It was such a nasty swipe. Ramona = Nene = Vicki Gunvalson in my book.

        • noarguingwithstupid

Typical passive agressive Ramona. I wish someone would take a swipe at her overdone homes!!! Hope they keep you warm at night, cause that’s all you’re gonna’ have!!

  • WestCoastFeed

    Super recap, North.

I hope this episode turns out to be Ramona’s worst. I don’t think she could get more awful if she tried.

    • Norrth

Thank you. I hope so, too. Ramona can be obnoxious and out of control, but never violent. She keeps giving Mario looks that make me think she knew, even at that time, what he was doing. I think the other women bore the brunt of her hurt feelings.

    • noarguingwithstupid

Ramona needs to retire. Leave the show. Exit stage left or right. Get the hook!

  • twifan2

Well, we should all go! 😀
Duo Sofas – $137.50 Floor, sold in pairs, price per person

    • noarguingwithstupid

They are all beating each other up like damn thugs!!! I am sick of the violence.

  • SAMRA1116

    Good recap—didn’t watch
Romona is losing her mind—Mario n his cheating—she’s attacking her peers
Sonja — you are not a brand — anything to make money quickly, awaiting to open your own dept store— it’s not working. You are spending more than you receive—the show will be over, by the time your brand is revealed
Kristian husband is a big ass jerk–he dismissed his wife, so respecting other women struggling is not a good look.
    Heather ok with me
Carole sick of her pathetic attempt to be young n hip, please it’s not looking good.

    • Norrth

AH! Someone else is thinking it too! I don’t understand what’s happened with Carole. I think being dumped or dumping Ross did something to her. She wants to be young in the worst way, now.

      • SAMRA1116

She was horrible from the start–she’s trying too hard to be hip n cool. Jmo
Last year— was a bad attempt at coolness —check out my flat ass. Smh

    • Birdie11

I do think she attempts to be extra hip, but at least she’s not injecting and hacking her face to ribbons. We don’t have to watch her get her butt buffed at the plastic surgeon’s office, thank goodness. She seems the most comfortable in her skin, IMO.

      • SAMRA1116

U are correct about that—she’s the only one not stretched or pumped.
She in tune with herself. Her self esteem is on point.

  • twifan2

    Excellent recap, Norrth! 🙂
Much rather read your recaps than watch the shows. Thank you! 🙂

    • Norrth

Glad you enjoyed it. This show is becoming hilarious to me (in a good way). I was pretty surprised Lu snarked about Sonja losing her home. Notice that Ramona didn’t get mad at her but went full tilt on Kristen and Josh.

      • twifan2

Ramona needs allies. Kristen is the ‘new girl in town’ & apparently expendable. :/

  • RonnieIsBack

So obvious Mario wasn’t feeling Ramona….Kristen’s husband is mean, but he was spot on with Sonja…I would have dumped Ramona in the lake…

    • twifan2

I wonder what Josh thought of the split lip on his wife?

      • RonnieIsBack

        So do I…

      • noarguingwithstupid

If I were Josh, I would have gone to police station pronto!!

  • Raine Woman

I’m sure to be in the minority but I really enjoy this show. Fully prepared to dislike Kristen, she’s quickly turning into one of my faves. I love, love, loved Carol’s CA home. There are no words for Ramona and Sonja this year other than delusional.

    Wonderful recap, Norrth! Thx.

  • Soncie22

Lawd have mercy!! great recap Norrth, but lawd have mercy this reminds me of the “Wizard of Oz”
Ramona Singer: Wicked Bit*ch of Upper Eastside, is in dire need of a heart, and a muzzle..and perhaps anger management.
Sonjia: could use a little common sense and a budget
Carole: needs a man, and hopefully one not made of straw, but a real flesh and blood man, one who is according to the star of Andy’s new dating show, Carole’s new man should be a businessman, artists are too creative.
Heather: well let’s just say in this episode, Heather is Dorothy because as far as I am concerned, she can do no wrong..for now.
Kristen: Is perfect just the way she is, but she could possibly use a new group of girlfriends..

  • Thank you Norrth for another great recap. Nicely done as always.

Can you just imagine if Kristen (or anyone) threw a glass at Ramona and hit her?? She would have had the police there, AC on speed dial and would be ranting “Who DOES that?!?!” Cheating husband and menopause be damned, she has to have to consequences for once! Hey Ramona…. take a XANAX! CALM DOOOOWN!

    • Norrth

OH so true. I could see Ramona framing that poor girl’s mugshot and carrying it in every ep after that, if the shoe were on the other foot.

  • WestCoastFeed

After Andy deals with all the complaints about violence extending into NY, I predict his solution is going to be to ban all props for the housewives.

    • Hi West….At the reunions they’re banned already…you mean on the shows?

      • WestCoastFeed

Yes, that is exactly what I mean.

        • That would be very difficult to achieve. That would mean they couldn’t have anything around them because anything can be used as a weapon. Like Ramona throwing her wine glass at Kristen.

          • WestCoastFeed

Yes, but that’s the way Andy’s mind works. Look how he solved the violence at the reunion problem.

          • I agree, West. Hitting someone in the face with a wineglass and DRAWING BLOOD is way more violent than a hair pulling in a ball gown at a reunion. Where was Andy’s outrage toward violence way back when this was filmed? I could kick his ass right now.

          • Birdie11

Plus she was treading water at the time…AND it looked like Ramona intended to hit her with the oar and held back.

          • LMAO @ Ramona hitting her with the oar. She’s one crazy bitch when she gets “Ramotioanl.” Not to mention she’s menopausal and it was “turtle time.”

          • Birdie11

The craziest is her ridiculous blow dry hairdos every time she gets around water!! Plus they don’t even look special!!

          • Hahahaha! And her gigantic rollers from the 70’s! Ramona is a trip!!

          • noarguingwithstupid

I hope she has to make a “trip” to jail for her mugshot!!!! I am not kidding!!

          • Agreed! She deserves it!

          • noarguingwithstupid

That’s how it looked to me!!!! Blood was drawn. What are you going to do Andy? This isn’t Ramona’s first rodeo regarding violence.

          • WestCoastFeed

I am. of course, joking. But at the same time trying to point out how stupid his ban on props at reunions was.

          • Birdie11

So stupid…plus it deflects from PORSHA’S fault and responsibility.

          • WestCoastFeed

If Kirsten were as disliked as Kenya is, folk would be saying that she deserved it, and that it was her fault because she provoked Ramona.

          • EXCELLENT POINT!!! Wish I could give you 100 up arrows for this!

          • Gotcha !!! 😉

          • RonnieIsBack

Very stupid…as if they were the sole reason Horse-sha attacked…please..that bish was guning for Kenya the moment she put on her heavy hair piece and my little pony sparkle dress…

    • RonnieIsBack

This isn’t the first time Ramona hauled off and threw something or hit someone..remember when she jumped the production staff a few years back? She is off her rocker…

  • Norrth

Can someone tell me if the Berkshires has the reputation Ramona, Sonja and Luann claim, or if they were just exaggerating? I couldn’t see anything wrong with the bit we saw. If Heather wanted a pool and a tennis court, she certainly had the room for it.

    • RonnieIsBack

      They were lying…read Heather’s blog..

    • Sara

It’s a beautiful area upstate New York. The Berkshires has a reputation for being woodsy low-key family orientated and the Hamptons is where the ritzy socialite uber rich live and hang out.

      • Sue Shore

        The Berkshires are in Mass.

    • RealitySuxx

The Berkshires is VEEERRRYYYY nice …. I just shook my head at all their bellyaching.

  • Sara

Why was Aviva cut out of the credits just because she wasn’t in the episode? I specifically remember episodes of RHOBH that Yolanda or Adrienne weren’t in, but they were still in the opening sequence for that episode. Weird.

Move over Aviva, Ramona is rapidly becoming my least favorite person on planet earth.

I can’t stomach all the “holla” crap and P.Diddy posturing from Heather and Carole reminds me of the crypt keeper.

    • RealitySuxx

I can’t stand Heather. I notice when she says all that holla crap … I see her tagged as “keeping it real” … and i just laugh. She is pretentious and a phony.

They REEEAAALLLYYY need to re-tool RHONY … I was just appalled at what I saw last night.

      • Sara

Thank you, I’m glad you see it too. Heather is a major poser and phoney.

Ramona may be Holy inappropriateness!!!! But she makes me laugh so hard! I can’t be outraged, because well, it’s Ramona and she’s always inappropriate. The best moments of the show were Ramonja cooling themselves with the portable unit.

I know I’m in the minority but I felt Kristen should have stopped splashing Ramona when she asked. I thought it was wrong to splash her in the first place. She knew it would rile her up and it wasn’t funny.

        • RealitySuxx

I have never liked Ramona – but at least – in my view – she has been honest with her rude, inappropriate, loud and obnoxious self…but the glass – WAY over the line.

If you don’t want someone splashing you – get out of the water … or splash water back…but a glass? What if a chip would have gotten into that woman’s eye?? That, to me, was insane.

The cooling thing..it was funny…but kinda gross too … I felt for the poor maintenance/delivery guy. 🙂

          • Sara

Ramona’s reaction did cross the line and Kristen could have been seriously hurt. I can’t help but feel sorry for Ramona, knowing she was having marital problems and her daughter was leaving for college. She was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

          • SAMRA1116

I know, but that’s no excuse for throwing a glass at her—Kristen knew Romona don’t want her hair wet. But two wrongs, don’t make it right.
            Romona looks miserable.

          • RonnieIsBack

let’s see…wet hair (water) glass in face (blood)
No comparison….Ramona was out of line….

          • noarguingwithstupid

            Totally and completely!!!

          • SAMRA1116

            I think that’s why I said — Romona is wrong. 🙂

          • noarguingwithstupid

No excuses. Ramona could have done so much damage. I want to see Mandy speak to this ASAP!!!

          • noarguingwithstupid

Who cares??? She is a grown woman who knows that glass breaks!!! It was a vicious thing to do.

        • noarguingwithstupid

That’s the chance you take when you are on the WATER!!!!

  • RealitySuxx

Ramona throwing a glass at Kristen … where is the outrage? Ratchet? Ghetto? Animal labels? LOL .. but if it had happened on RHOA, the blogs, comments…would be on fire.

It’s not just BRAVO that are hypocrites – so are the viewers.

    • Sara

Nothing, because it would be a waste of time, because Bravo/Andy ENCOURAGE behavior like that. I guess they only speak out against violence in Atlanta.

      • RealitySuxx

It’s a double standard if nothing else .. but at least I saw on twitter Andy and BRAVO being blasted to kingdom come over the hypocrisy. They really have a mess on their hands, and if I was Porsha’s lawyer – I’d had taken note.

        • Sara

I think Bravo / Andy are well aware that firing Porsha at this point would be a PR nightmare.

          • Norrth

Ramona’s incident took place last summer. It’s just now airing. Porsha’s violent assault (as I see it) recently took place. They’ve enacted the policy. I can’t see how Bravo can keep Porsha. If they do, they’ll probably pay her almost nothing and drop her the next year.

          • RonnieIsBack

            she should still be fired.

          • noarguingwithstupid

            I agree–send a message-No violence on the show, period.

          • noarguingwithstupid

Too bad!!! Portia needs to go!!!

        • SAMRA1116

If Porsha’s lawyer put Kenya on the wittiness stand—she will have to answer his questions. Now Porsha was wrong to me. Jmo
Kenya has harassed, insulted, taunted her for two years. I’m sorry, the first time, that scepter at me–I would have left, I don’t like no one in my personal space. That’s just me —but I’m sick in the head—cause Porsha drugged the hell out of her, by her hair. I know it wrong, but shit was funny. Ms. Messy boots was shocked–one site showed the bald spot in Kenya’s head. Now just beat my white ass. LOL

          • Norrth

That site didn’t use an actual picture of Kenya. I think it used a gag image.

          • SAMRA1116

It was several sites n Kenya does uses pieces in her hair

        • noarguingwithstupid

That’s good to know!!! I hope they listen very carefully to the viewers!!

    • SAMRA1116

I’ve been saying that—different rules for the other HWS

      • noarguingwithstupid

I am outraged!!!! Ramona should be fired.

        • SAMRA1116

Wrong tone of skin—that’s why ATL get the ratchet comments. But it’s all in good fun. When I called Brandi, ghetto n she would never jump in a black woman face like she does. U would have thought I killed someone, the excuses. Guess I need to quit blogging—the blogs are a reflection of how America feel… Now my white ass is going to STFU, I just like snark on ALL.. Romona is good, everyone is making excuses. JMO
They just like butt, we all have one..

    • noarguingwithstupid

I don’t think this is the first time Ramona has lost her temper. I am outraged!! To draw BLOOD is a whole other level. Time for that spoiled old woman to go!!!

      • Norrth

In the previews, Ramona brings up the relationship with her father and how she feels she is becoming just like him. If she can name it? She can do something about it. It will be interesting to see how she treats Kristen from this point on. She should be begging her forgiveness from her until eternity.

        • noarguingwithstupid

She won’t though. Ramona has no self awareness. She is a spoiled rotten woman who needs to leave the show. She thinks she can say or do anything and then an offhand “I apologize” makes it all better. I am sick of her.

          • Norrth

The long term housewives seem to the be very worst about this, IMO. They never seem to remember saying something nasty, first. They never seem to remember attacking someone, only being attacked. Ramona leads the way in that sense. I believe her when she says she had a terrible childhood. She is always on the defensive and looking for negative comments – even if she has to twist positive ones to do it. I could never work with or for her. It would be a nightmare, for both of us. The NY HWs have indulged her eccentricities more than they should have.

    • Norrth

The conflation of race and class by viewers is disturbing
to me. The women of ATL aren’t ratchet because they are African-American They
are ratchet because of their actions and they lack class in my book. I
think the ATL group are all playing themselves by a factor of 10, with the
exception of Cynthia and Kenya who are sorely miscast on this show. Those
two belong on a show about the beauty/pageant industry, SOMETHING other than
      RHOA.

Ramona was out of control and had a child- like tantrum – but I don’t see it as being anything close to the amped up attempt to violently assault someone while aggressively referring to her as a “whore” or a “slut” or “bitch”. Ramona also lacks class, in my book and in the blog I noted that the Lu’s song fit her perfectly. There was, however, no “rusty vagina” or “funk box’ comments, no litany of vile misogynistic terms (though Ramona does comment that Kristen is a bitch for
continuing to splash water) The RHOA women treat those terms as if they
are dispositional. The RHONY women treat them as if they are tied to the situation (you’re a bitch for what you do, now who you are. RHOA HWs don’t make that
distinction and as an African-American woman that horrifies me).

The women of RHONY are disgusted by the behavior of throwing wine (and then a glass of wine). The RHOA woman made excuses and laughed about it. Other than Cynthia they indicated that it was overdue. Pathetic. I don’t see Kenya as bullying Porsha as much as Porsha seemed to feel “bullied” by being outwitted. The girl coined the term “bye ashy” and went negative OFTEN, even when Kenya did not.

The bigger question for me is why the path to fame and notoriety on shows with largely African-American casts comes through trashy formats like LHHATL / LHHNY / BBW/ BBWLA/ Flavor of Love/ etc. THAT, for me, is the bigger, sadder, more exploitative problem. Compare those to a show like “Married to Medicine”. I would HOPE that even Mariah and Toya’s spat didn’t lead to calls of “animals” and “ghetto” – because realitytv god knows it looked like a sad tribute to “Dynasty”. I’m not saying their fight was ok or that it was excusable, it wasn’t. For me it didn’t reach the RHOA level of dysfunction. There was also the ” Single In the City” series from Bravo with a largely positive successful African-American cast. The MtM and the SiTC women would be just as horrified as any other group of women by the wine throwing, the name calling, hair yanking, the glass throwing, etc.

It’s not race, for me. It’s class. I think Bravo should answer for its decisions to cast RHOA as it has, compared to casting the other shows. RHOA and RHOC are primarily low rent, in my book. Thanks to Nene, Porsha, and Phaedra, RHOA
takes the low rent crown, for me.

      Sorry for the long response.

I also like Cynthia and started rooting for Porsha after her marriage ended the way it did. I wanted her to be successful to show Kordell she didn’t need him. I will admit that’s true even after the first “queen” comment because I’d hoped she didn’t mean it and wouldn’t say anything like that again. I think Porsha completely missed her chance to become the “comeback kid”.

I hope Kristen files a police report. Maybe her husband will encourage her to.

What does everyone think of Luann’s joke about Sonja losing her home? I was shocked. I thought they were better friends than that. I believe the wives that they sometimes forget about the cameras.
