Real Housewives of Orange County star, Ryan Culberson and husband of Briana Wolfsmith-Culberson has finally decided to address the “elephant in the room.” The Marine has FINALLY stepped up and acknowledged he has a serious problem with rage and is taking the necessary steps to get help for post-traumatic stress. Ryan says he acquired PTSD during his Marine career. He is participating in Save A Warrior, a resiliency program aimed at helping veterans of war zones.

Briana and Ryan’s marriage is featured on the Real Housewives of Orange County. The couple came under major scrutiny last season when soldier Ryan Culberson got into a nasty confrontation with Lydia’s mom, Judy. The incident outraged many fans as Ryan flipped out on Judy who is 64. Ryan claimed Judy disrespected “his” house by putting her feet on the couch. He eventually threw the senior citizen out of the party for not listening to him.

Ryan blamed Bravo’s editing for portraying him in such a negative light. Many fans thought Ryan might be suffering from PTSD.

Ryan tells Marine Corps Times:

“I’ve had issues for years that I have left unresolved, I just really want other Marines to be aware of programs like Save A Warrior and know that it’s OK to seek help. This is something I choose to do 100 percent on my own—I didn’t even feel the show needed to know anything about it,” he said. But…the scrutiny of being in the public eye hasn’t made dealing with [the issues] any easier.”

The program involves physical activities like rock-climbing and horse-riding as well as ceremonial practices and meditation techniques aimed at helping Marines to effectively deal with anxiety in their civilian lives.

We’re happy Ryan has finally stepped up to get the help he so desperately needs.
